Can we get a tank training program?

Low elo players are going to be bad, only way to get good tanks is to be in a higher elo, so either play in a stack or start playing characters with great carry potential like baptiste or play cheesy characters until you get to gold/plat

Not sure about CS but R6 is absolutely easy mode when compared to OW by design.

It maybe simple or easy as game design, but simply why these epros won’t cut it is reaction time required in tac shooters at that level.

Like most tac shooter can be cheesed by game sense to an extent, but at the top reaction time starts coming in, even though aiming in tac shooters is a lot more easy in a sense interms of movement.

Which is why I said they won’t cut it , off all the crowd in ow eSports only sinnatra could even get into pro scene in val.

Val is supposed to be the easier of the lot.

Also i doubt you will go past plat in r6 solo qing, it’s more team focussed than ow.

“We need a tank.” “Bastion is a tank.” “Why do we have one healer?”

Sure you can do all that…
It sti doesn’t matter the game was still fun and worked well with little loss in revenue or playerbase till rq happened.

Majority of the playerbase made it work.

The game was well balanced for assymetrical roles matchups.

I’m not denying that me and my friends had fun going quad tank for an entire night because every team we went up against decided to have double snipers, but I also can’t deny that other people have different feelings. Empathy, I think it’s called.

We can’t do what we used to do. If you’re a tank you hace five people you need to face off with and you must trust your team to handle anyone that gets past you.

This isn’t a one lerson issue, you get “bad tanks” because you yourself are a “bad” player.

As thickest Buddha said. It doesn’t matter until you hit Master. If you want better tanks level up.

Empathy is good… yes yes

That’s literally just a physical limitation though, that’s the thing. You don’t really need to play smart in Siege to win, you just need to click heads and not die. I was actually just playing Siege last night for the FIRST TIME ON PC. Dropped 8-9 kills literally every game while having lag spikes every 5-10 seconds. It’s just not hard.

Game sense isn’t cheese, it’s just what makes the game hard. OW is harder than Siege because you have to passively do and know everything that Siege players have to actively think about, on top of all of the active thinking and fast strategizing. When you can brute force with pure mechanics, games are generally not hard. That’s why hitscan DPS mains are always the worst ones in any given rank.

honestly when they made the ‘‘new player experience’’ crap, they should have added training sessions on each hero, nothing crazy just the general idea of how to play the hero. sadly NPE is just meh, play the game, unlock heroes…does nothing but make countering with new players a pain and if they want to play a hero they see…nah gotta wait til you unlock it through grinding. like cmon.

I’ve thought since I joined in January 2017 that this game was far too complex for the baffling excuse of a tutorial you get. And they didn’t even fix it in OW2, which yes is less complex but also more punishing if you DON’T have an understanding of the game. How they added unlocking heroes but not info on how to use them is beyond me

Blizzard has never been good at teaching their players how to actually play their games.

Mei and Brig were tanky in open que ><.

Not only that but you have the freedom to both int and have it work out. It’s only dumb if it doesn’t work and inting with teamwork is just called rush/dive.

“Yes, let’s release a support with 250 hp, an 800 hp barrier, enough self-healing and damage output to 1v1 a Reinhardt (literally, go look it up), a nearly one second easy to land stun, an ult that gives herself and allies up to 150 armor that didn’t decay, another ability that gave people a burst of armor, and a medium range boop.”

Aye, she was pretty tanky.

Are you sure there isnt a custom game already created to help with this ive found a bunch for other chars im trying to master like the Moira fade jump trainer. Tanks definately lately have gotten a bit less protective ive been noticing and dont even look out for themselves sometimes. If there isnt i am shocked someone hasnt sorta put one together to help get players into the habit of what to do and when to pull out.

Let’s play devil’s advocate for a moment, eh?

So… why didn’t y’all pick fast characters and go in with him? Sure, he was feeding. Absolutely. But once it became clear that wasn’t going to change, why didn’t you attempt to at least enable their play and see if you got a different result?

Why does the tank have to change their style to suit you, but you never have to change yours to suit them?

One of my favorite OW quotes. “When one person does something stupid it’s feeding. When a whole team does something stupid it’s a plan.” You want to play like a team, then PLAY LIKE A TEAM. Not when it suits you to do so.

Except we have 5v5 open queue, and most people don’t play tank in that game mode. There are exceptions, of course, before anyone starts claiming I’m wrong, but that doesn’t make it the rule.

also a training camp for DPS to let them know that they need to come back to support to get healed and not scream “i need healing” while they are in the middle of the enemy team.
