Can we get a shield break stat?

I think it feels weird how shield breaking isn’t put in statistics? Sometimes you want to enforce stats that involve shield breaking. Some heroes are designed for it! Can we please add this on top of the hero damage stat?

that includes turrets, teleporter, translocator, mines, traps, etc though :eye::eye:

Those could be separate too like construct damage.

There’s literally a barrier damage stat

I have not seen this on any of my damage/support heroes. In the experimental I am killing a ton of barriers as Symmetra and all I see is low healing and low damage lol…

Yes during a match. It just feels weird on experimental to see so little damage and healing. On heroes like Symmetra. And if a hero like that ever made it to live, it’d feel weird too. Since most of the kit’s impact is better used on stuff like breaking shields.

Not quite on the topic but i wanted to mention that during owl Brigs stat didn’t show healing done and only displayed dmg done and kills.

Some info displayed ingame is often missing or really unimportant or outright useless

It is something that would be nice to see the value of certain heroes. I think shield break is important with some strategies in ow. Some heroes reliably deal more of it. It would be nice to see the numbers in matches of heroes you play.

Oh, on the in match page. Yeah there’s nothing there for that. On this topic, for some reason Zen doesn’t have a damage boosted stat either

That would be nice too. On tanks I see damage blocked. On heroes that I want to compare damage numbers too. I would like to know % of shield damage vs other sources. Like hero damage.

It would be nice to see how each hero fares in these different conditions.

Right now gold damage metals is given to hero damage, it ignores stuff like shield damage contribution.

I think the main reason for that is because hero damage has interactions with ult charge while shield damage doesn’t do that. It would go in the right hand stats page if it was added

Shield damage makes it possible to break through there defences to enable the rest of your team.

Oh c’mon xD It would be barely 500 damage in the longest match ever against junk sym unreasonable combo =) However a motorcycle at junkertown attacker’s spawn would be an issue for sure xD And don’t tell me that you have enough power of will to resist shooting it, because it works better for sym turrets and junk traps afaik =)

A long time ago when the earth was new, damage to barriers used to count towards (and show on cards as) total damage. Didn’t matter if you shot shields all your life or melted tanks/DPS/everyone all game. Then they removed it because they seem to have a policy about not really showing valuable teamplay statistics based on how much this game started to outright baby mid to long-range DPS; cuz FPSbroz.

It was a turning point for early Junkrat/Bastion mains, and the nerfs have never quite stopped coming :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I am often shooting shields in stuff on like Symmetra (because of how her gun works) and tanks and supports to help enable more damage onto the enemy. I would appreciate knowing how much heroes contribute to shield break to help compare them to others. For example widow may do a bunch of hero damage and kills, but say a good widow will hardly contribute to shield break.

This is something I would like to see numerically. The total damage thing was weird, but I don’t see it bad to see hero damage, shield damage, construct damage to track your own progress in match.

Like on the experimental with Symmetra probably the most value she can do is help break shields, because her gun got way nerfed. Her turrets also don’t live that long to heal and some tanks hog the turret healing like D.Vas and they have no shields to negate damage.

I have also seen people ask for a damage amplified stat. That would work nice on heroes like zenyatta or mercy to know how you are contributing from using offensive assist abilities in the game.

A shield damage + destructibles broken/damaged stat would be glorious, but this game is and always has been horrendous in displaying anything players do to actually help their team (with few exceptions), or tell you how you’re doing in-game compared to your teammates or what value a player is getting. It’s a large and complex topic, but there 1000% could be better stats as well as information during and after games. The dev team knows this and has opted not to implement it in a variety of scenarios. Early iterations of the game had a scoreboard at the end.

Bad example. Great Widows shoot shields at full charge when there’s nothing else for them to shoot, assuming there’s no better positioning she needs to take to get more kills.

Ultimately, OW has a drought of valuable stats (and some of your hero gallery stats are outright incorrect), but they don’t care enough to change that for the live game.

It is a change that would definetly be in something like OW2. Buts its just a qol thing they could add imo. Making more cards may also help as I seen suggested in the mercy thread with some ultimates not having cards. Each hero provides good value in there own ways.
