I am just wondering why we have never gotten a support or tank hero that has the ability of cleansing status effects or blocking cc.
It’s just a pretty typical support archetype that doesn’t exist in overwatch
The only cleanse we have is zarya bubble but it could be cool to have an aoe cleanse in the game. With so much utility in the game it would be cool to have some counter utility
ability a) aoe cleanse on cd small radius
ability b) aoe stun migitation on cd large radius
primary damage projectile like lucio or something
primary heal a sticky turret like sym with small radius (2 turrets can be active) no cd, low healing, destructible
When I play Zarya I pretty much always bubble my rein when he gets Anti’d. Idc if they push in or right after I bubble, him being Anti’d is way more detrimental than him not having bubble.
low key, an ability that can block cc and practically “cleanse” cc or debuffs is legit shields.
like think about it. block bit is obvious unless charge for rp. but like so many of the debuffs and cc can be waited out with a shield to cover for you. not to mention things like discord and eneky support healing los can be blocked by shields.
it’s pretty much why I thought of the shield ability for my support hero concept allegro:
4 years and people are still complaining about hack and then wanna complain about doomfist being op, and people want a counter to him and yet sombra is practically the perfect counter to stop a doomfist…
And then they will start saying how sombra hack is op, you cant have your cake and eat it too
A character with a cleanse could be a good way to shut up people who complain about hack. If there are available countermeasures then they should use them. And if they still complain then they are just in the group of stubborn people
Including cleansing abilities is a good way to give more options to the players
Please no aoe cleanse. Nade or shatter don’t deserve to be useless.
I think a single target cleanse with a 5-7 seconds cooldown and a 2 seconds duration should work well in ow.
And pls no damage immunity like they did with fade.
The idea is that the hero brings other weaknesses to the composition. So yeah now cc and debuffs become less effective but the team now also suffers from less sustain healing
that’s why this is unacceptable even as concept. There shouldn’t be a hero who is denying skill shots just by existing and pressing a key. Deny is easier than hit.
