It seems like a hog secondary fire, it goes a set distance then explodes like Aaron said.
So maybe you can’t land it “early” before the explosion,
it’ll just go through them or explode early and isn’t a precision shot
Which might be why the user was shooting at the ground a lot, to get the aoe to go off

it’s an explosive so pretty unlikely. It’s probably just a higher speed and damage version of Sigma’s projectiles.
