Can tracer teleport?

Or is she just really fast cuz I’m sure that the jet that she was testing out was supposed to be able to teleport or something but just never came back

her jet did have ability to teleport but i don’t know for sure what kind of teleport maybe it similiar as tracer’s current ability the jet able to blink and recall

blink is kind of teleport i think

Tracer was testing a new type of jet for overwatch that could teleport. Something went wrong and she started fading in and out of time but Winston came and helped tracer, he built the crono-excelator…(spelled it wrong) for her, and now she’s anchored in time and she can teleport now!

Gamewise it’s like a TP … blink doesn’t braek Sombras hack as long as she is still in range and in front of you.

It’s a teleport. For example if you have someone shoot constantly in a straight line, you can test whether or not a character has a TP ability. Things like Blink, Recall, Shadowstep, and Fade are considered TP because they don’t take damage while going through the line of fire. However abilities like Genji’s dash wouldn’t be considered TP because he can take damage as he goes through the line of fire.

Tracer’s blink is a short range, instant teleporter, taking her 7m in distance

It’s why you can shoot at the end of her blink and the damage will connect. It’s also why Tracer can blink behind player characters in 1v1s.

It’s not. Blinking through a trap sets it off. If anyone sneezes on the blink path it hurts you.

It is though. You can also blink through a junk trap so I don’t know where you got that information from. You don’t take damage if somebody shoots the path of your blink either.

You can die in during a blink, I have caught a few random headshots and been like whaaaaa?
During recall you are safe from anything though.

Lore wise, she’s not teleporting. Both Blink and Rewind are her manipulating how time applies to her. Blink being rapidly speeding it up temporarily and Rewind is, well… going backwards in time.

In terms of gameplay, I believe Tracer does not simply teleport but quickly moves from the start point to the end point. Now the number of ticks in the duration of the blink is so few that the odds of being hit are very difficult.

In terms of lore, the Slipstream used temporal mechanics to give the appearance of teleportation. Which is why Tracer has chronal disassociation and cannot properly be anchored in the presented space time continuum on her own.

Watch Back to the Future to get the basics.

Pretty sure that’s accurate, because I have been hooked mid blink before. It’s real hard to tell because the kill cams aren’t accurate to actual game play when the hook landed, but it seems like there’s a window there, however lucky you have to be.

You definitely can’t blink through a junk trap. I’ve literally died to this.

I’m not sure if their math was right, but I remember some science guys doing a video on Overwatch when it was new, and determining that Tracer’s speed with Blink would equate to her being able to effectively move at 88mph … which was a nice Back to the Future easter egg if so. XD

Well I’ve literally blinked over one multiple times to test this. It doesn’t trap you mid blink, if you died to it then you probably blinked just outside of it’s range. It’s probably more of a hit box problem if anything.
