Hi, I’m a Mercy main and I’ve been wondering something. I’m wondering if there’s a bug or something with the way they calculate individual hero match performance and if that affects your SR gain/loss as a support. Since I do virtually no damage in accordance with the scoreboard almost every game i feel like that has something to do with me being stuck in bronze 5 as a mercy. I queued against a silver 2 Moira in competitive and she had around a 43% winrate which was about 3% better than mine and we had around the same amount of games played. When comparing history, my K/D and overall stats completely out performed hers with the exception of damage done and killing blows.
The neat part is you’ll never know why. They make a ladder system and then don’t use it for ranking. Winning/Losing should rank you up. It always doesn’t.
Next turd is the PBSR system. Now you have to guess what metrics to follow for ranking. Once again it’s all hidden so you really don’t know what you did to rank up.
Truly the worst ranking system designed by horrible DEVS.
I wish they’d do something like riot’s grading system in League where it tells you how you scored performance wise with a letter grade vs everyone else who has played that champion. In WoW they atleast show you what both team’s averaged MMR’s are at the end of the match. I don’t know why that’s not even a thing in this game.
I played a lot of mercy, no matter how well I played I was stuck in basement 5(I use pistol at proper time as well). So I started playing bap and often had more kills than rest of the team. Guess what, did this for 70 more wins with win rate 80%, made absolutely no difference in ranking. Still bronze 5.
At this point I feel like as support my job is just to help rank up other roles while I am stuck in basement 5 forever.
After 300+ games I don’t even know if my SR is going up or down.
I have a 56% WR on Moira this comp season with 44 hours logged onto her this season. I went from Gold 1 to Silver 1.
Hope that helps.
With low ranks as support YOU have to be the one getting the picks (ironically usually on their support) to win games. This has stayed true for me all the way to Gold 1. Unsure if it will continue into plat.
Support simply has the least tools to carry a bad team. Not to mention exceeding low impact relative to tanks and DPS.
ya i got into silver 1 and won 7 lost 3 and deranked to bronze 1 ![]()
They will compare you to other mercy’s in bronze when working out your change in stats. I would focus on not dying and dmg boosted/healed as a mercy. When you get your ult use your pistol and try and kill their supports.
I even tried something for 7 wins, try to die much less but still perform how I always performed. Probably had a total of 5 deaths in 7 wins and still have some great healing, damage, elims, etc. All on Moira Support. It deranked me for it.
Ya I’m at a loss, I had one span of ranked games where I think I had 3 losses that I had highest dps in the game by 2k+ and a 2-3 k/d at least, like 3 other losses and then the 7 wins and I deranked from silver 5 to bronze 1. I honestly don’t know what to do to rank up, i’ve won 7 lost 1 and went from bronze 1 to silver 5 and also won 7 lost 3 and deranked. ![]()
Even if what you’re saying is the case, why aren’t people moving after doing like 8 sets of 7 matches to see where they got only to not move. Are they just that dog that the system is saying they don’t even deserve Bronze 4, DIVISIONS are not moving after mass gameplay. Idk how many more threads you need to say before you believe it.
Hmmm…crazy how the guy above me had the EXACT same thing happen to him. S5>S5>B1>B5 . Exact same ranks too. Idk how much more people need to complain, before the rest of the people get on board and agree there’s something wrong
Seems pretty clear that bronze 5 SR range is 0 to 1100. Average SR gain/loss was 23 or 24 in OW1. Probably still the same for OW2. So you would need a lot of wins without many losses to move out of that even if you started midway through the range (SR 550). I think they need to change it for bronze 5 as it is very unfulfilling.
Ok, thank you for at least seeing my point. But here’s the thing at some point they would rank up right? Maybe to the next divsion? Not a whole rank, but one small division in what is known as the ‘trash’ rank. What if, and here me out after lets say…150 games they still have not moved. Are they still just losing SR? They had the 10 game win streak with maybe a loss, won 3 more and went back to normal. And they STILL do not move what do you say then? Because this isn’t a hypothetical this is what people are actually going through.
