So, this guy got rank 1 on all 3 roles by min/maxing and duoing with a GM4 smurf to influence matchmaking, occasionally even caught wintrading, and forcing high ping on pharah, after which Blizzard banned him and all of his accounts from OW for a year, and the World Cup banned him for a year as well. He has also leaked photos of underage girls online. He has also in the past said numerous homophobic and racist slurs in game chat. Someone please explain to me why are so many people still defending this person?

Itās why Frogger can dunk on people seemingly easily but then you try to do it and get slapped immediately.
Yznsa defenders probably donāt believe it, or donāt care because all they see is someone at the top.

Yeah, high latency when playing Pharah actually works in your favor. If you play hitscans on high latency, youāre obviously disadvantaged.

I used to see people talking about using external devices to influence ping in arena matches in WOW back in the day and it never made sense to me. Iām not a tech person. Whatās the story with ping manipulation in competitive games?
Well i dont think u can blame someone who grew up in a culture/religion with pervasive views that u dont agree with, but rest of the stuff ā¦
Because he sadly represents a large portion of the toxic online gaming community in general.

Iām certainly no expert, but what Iāve read is that a gameās netcode contains a mechanic called lag compensation which is intended to offset the disadvantage of ping. Itās believed that in some games, lag compensation is so strong that having high enough ping actually becomes an advantage, i.e. favor the lagger. It seems more beneficial with projectiles than hitscan though (at least in OW).

i think it mainly cause how much of a big icon and an influence he is, specially in the arabic/middle eastern side of the overwatch community, and i really mean itā¦ i know it doesnāt sound reasonable, but i think a whole lot of his hardcore fans are willing to gaslight themselves into thinking itās all āāfalse allegationsāā.
and about this part, as absurd as this sound homophopia is so normalized in middle east and arab countries due to culture and religion, so a whole lot of his fans (which are mostly arabs) donāt have any issue with that one.
