Can Someone Explain This Winter Event For Me?

Hi all, I haven’t been on the Forums in quite a while. I took a little hiatus from OW, and hopped back in after the event had started.

I’m a tad confused by what all’s going on. I think I understand the ticket stuff. Tickets are like a new currency that have they’re own shop.

But it there another skin earning thing going on? I see people mentioning you can get an Illari skin somehow.

Thanks

It is a mini BP in which you get currency that is usable in this event only and you can only choose specific even items to spend it on. Unless you are paying to get more currency the stuff you can chose is very limited.

So what are people talking about with an Illari skin?

There is a recolor of the pajama skin that you can get from it.

Oh that makes sense. You can get it with the tokens?

I had seen that skin in the Hero Gallery for coins so I assumed it was just a typical Shop skin.

I also saw someone say something about being able to get 4 Legendary skins for $5

The 5$ pass gives you enough to get all but one of the skins. You have to drop 30 bucks for extra event tickets to have enough for all.
With the free pass you only get 120 tickets which is enough for 1 skin but not the skins that cost 160.

This is probably where my confusion is coming from. Which is the 5 dollar pass?

Is the usual battlepass half off or do you buy the ticket thing separate?

I’m considering buying the winter bundle with the Tracer skin, does that get me the 5 dollar pass?

Winter wonderland (the ticket event) itself has a free pas and a premium pass and the premium pass costs 5$

If I buy the bundle with the Tracer skin should I not bother buying the $5 pass?

If I remember correctly, that bundle has 575 tickets right ? If yes, then you should be ok without spending the additional 5$. The event has 5 skins. 2 of these cost 160 each and the remaining cost 90 each so in total you need 590 tickets. You can get 575 from the bundle and the remaining from the free track

Ok thank you.

This event feels very strange. Honestly it just feels like a new Shop instead of an event

True that, I guess they are just trying out new ways to monitize the game lol

Also the bundle gives 575 tickets.

It says after the event tickets turn into currency, I wonder if they mean the gold coin or the useless one.

Maybe I should get the bundle and still get the ticket pass, because I have enough coins for the ticket pass from challenges.

It’s the white coins and you don’t need the ticket pass because you get 120 tickets from free pass so in total you will have 695 tickets which are enough to buy out everything

Why is it the white coins???

That makes the event even worse.

God forbid they actually let us have some more of the coins that are useful.

Well you get 120 free tickets so if it were the gold coins, it would destroy the economy of the game and they might have gone bankrupt. That’s why it’s the white coins !

Jokes aside, this event is really stupid so don’t mind it too much.

I swear, it’s like everytime I actually want to give Blizzard my money they make it so unnecessarily complicated, and there’s always a downside.

I honestly just care about the Tracer skin. I think the Cree one looks nice but nothing crazy. And the rest are meh.

But that Tracer skin is beautiful. And it shows half her foot!

If you just want the tracer skin then you might be able to get it for 1900 coins if you buy it from hero gallery. Usually the bundle items are available for individual purchase from hero gallery. Either way, have fun with your new stuff !
