Can someone explain the logic of Sombra hacks?

So I know Overwatch is in the future where everyone uses complicated cyber technology which explains a lot of the stuff we see in game. Even genji’s dragon blade which I assumed was actual magic can be explained by nano tech apparently…

But what about Sombra’s hack on some heroes?

She hacks McCree and oh no he forgets how to roll?

Soldier 76 can’t remember how to sprint?

I’m kind of bothered by this logic.

But a guy using a magic dragon to kill people doesn’t bother you ? It’s just for the game’s sake don’t try to find any logic in that

You’re asking for a lore explanation on a game mechanic.

It doesn’t work that way.

Since most of the heroes have some sort of equipment or cybernetic enhancements, the hack disables them temporarily to make them lose their abilities.

Since we have gotten that out of the way, maybe you can explain to me how a gorilla jumping can cause up to a maximum of 45 damage per target hit, but a metal mech flying into the same targets using actual rockets does only 10 damage per target? Now that is some mind-bending game logic.

Everything can be hacked, and everyone…”

Works for me

Nanomachines.

Sombra disables them with her tech.

I suppose one COULD argue that Sombra hacks McCree’s arm, preventing him from shoulder rolling, else he hurt himself.

And one could say Soldier: 76 has robotic implants to nail home the “supersoldier” feel. His Cyborg: 76 skin definitely does.

That being said, I have no excuse for McCree’s other abilities, Hog’s hook, or Junkrat’s trap.

Okay, I laughed out loud at this post. XD

Maybe she hacks their brain implant to make them stupid for 6 seconds.

Yeah but see it’s not magic. Read my whole post :stuck_out_tongue:

He has chicken legs.

The flashbang has a sensor so even if he uses it its useless and he knows it, hog hook has a hackable mechanism that allows him to reel in so fast and junkrats trap uses a sensor the little pressure sensor in the middle is for show

Lol I guess you have a good point. Following actual logic, I could also argue that Genji’s quick melee should do way more damage I mean come on, a knife to the face does 15 damage?

A good chunk of McCree’s body is mechanical probably soldiers legs too
Genji and Hanzo’s dragon powers are supernatural from their ancestors

It’s a video game, logic has already left the building a long time ago.

Someone told me that the dragons weren’t actually magic, but just really fancy tech. I’m confused now.

Well, one aspect of hacking is the installation of viruses that help to undermine and control systems. It’s possible that Sombra is using a modified version of the Vishkar hard-light technology (you know, from light into being comes actual real world objects), and Sombra is actually PHYSICALLY IMPLANTING things into the heroes she hacks that causes a temporary loss of their abilities, like miniature temporary nanobots that screw with their nervous system and make normal activities difficult.

She’s hacking the game itself

She puts on Hackerman gloves.
Things get a hacked.
