“warrior” and “powerful” don’t mean “facial hair”, excluding meme value, and even then, even ignoring that it’s outdatedly sexist to avoid “sjw” arguments… like, holy butts is it just… ever so filthy… it’s even worse when people try it in real life and just end up with the whole seaweed salad thing going on, that’s even more hideous
funny enough, top knots are an old asian “warrior” thing, too
so… that adds an extra bit of hilarity to the argument of “warriors” needing facial hair, since i’m pretty sure the same “meme value” people who try to go “man have beard” are the same kind of people who would devalue a top knot

Rein is a complicated character. He has some def PTSD issues and in his short story you can kinda see he has some screws loose.
I can see the beard being a sign that he is slipping further and doubling down on the whole " I will fight to my last breath!" mentality. Caring less and less about formalities and “clean” appearance.
Kinda like a warrior LOOKING for death. Spartan style.

I definitely like the current design more than the ow2 one but there are some good rein skins out there and hopefully there will be more that are actually amazing vs just being ‘okay’.
I personally don’t ‘love’ a single rein skin yet. Feelsbad.
