Can now interrupt your own emotes

not seeing anyone post about it yet… just a heads up.

Thanks for sharing. This is a good improvement.

I like to emote to see skins. Now I don’t have to die for it.

I did not see this anywhere else, so yes thank you for sharing! Now I won’t be scared to emote when I want to lol

Finally, there are too many improvements to be made in this game. If the development team wasn’t so focused on recoloring overpriced skins, they could work on improving the game.

That is actually a bona fide solid quality of life change that we’ve been asking for for years.

Noice!

I heard it thru the grapevine! Was it in the patch notes?

It’s not a feature it’s a bug.

I still remember using Hanzo’s sushi lunch e-mote… like the Energizer Bunny, it kept going and going and going and going…

When it finally finished, I quickly selected another replacement e-mote.

So this news is quite welcome

my theory is, is i think there was an emote accident in the last streamed OW tournament - think i saw a clip in a noobhunter video.

and so because NOW it’s an issue, devs did something about it and didn’t mention it so people won’t “abuse” it in comp, but want pro players to not have accidents.

Really? Oh finally, I am absolutely the person who dies because they got ‘stuck in an emote.’

Don’t get me wrong, I was always the first to fall about laughing whenever that happened, but it’s nice to know I can recover from my chronic ‘emote wheel fat finger’ condition.

I always thought their justification for not having emotes cancellable is to avoid abusing them for an in-game advantage…

(Not sure how you would do that, though I did see a video once of a DVa chasing a Tracer, and the Tracer player used an emote to sit and glitch into a wall.)

Just FYI: you’re locked in for about a second still.

I always liked not being able to cancel. Sort of a skill check.

Oh you used a long emote and you’re dead? Hope you learned from it

I still remember watching Seagull live in a comp game, where he did something extremely cool on a Junkrat – I think he flew into the middle of the fight and nuked a part of the enemy team – and started that trap ventriloquist emote in a kamikaze-like celebration as the remnants of the opposing team all turned around and cut him down in the middle of the act.

Oh wow, Ok. Thats kinda funny. Emotes have now gone controversial in the eSports sphere! Sometimes it has to be something dramatic to cause a change in a video game.
