I am building a pc and I wanted to know whether it is essential to have ddr4 to run overwatch
If you can go DDR4 it would be more “future” proof, however DDR3 runs overwatch just fine. (depending on the other components in your system)
It’s not essential, but you’ll want to make sure you’re running dual channel with the same size and speeds. Overwatch doesn’t perform as well on a single stick, or 3 sticks of 4gb.
I am using an i5-2400, a 1050 ti from msi and the case comes with 8gb of ram so i will have 16 gb of ram
16gb of ddr3 will run overwatch fine, your gfx card is fine, however the cpu is a little underpowered and will be your bottleneck on that config.
