Can i get banned for using Selfish-net

With this app I can limit the speed of people using my WIFI such as my brother who video streams a lot which causes lag while i play so I limit his speed. Can i get banned for using this app?

I’m not Blizzard, so don’t treat my word as gospel, but I don’t think so. It’s not giving you an advantage over anyone else.

I don’t think so, but it’s probably the worst way of doing what you want which is increasing your QOS and limiting his bandwidth usage. You need a better router with real QOS and bandwidth management options.

Also, if you’re playing over wifi you’re at a disadvantage no matter what, you really should be using a wired ethernet connection.

If you’re facing your Brother in a competetive match and throttle his connection… maybe… but otherwise… I don’t see how you limiting your bothers internet gives you any advantage ingame against other players… otherwise everyone with a good internet connection would have to be banned because “Good Latency is an advantage”

You might have more luck, if you go for the “Technical Support” board on this forum.

Anyway, I believe such tools could potentially be recognized as lagswitch, which is considered cheating by many games.

Since I have no clue of what Overwatch recognizes as cheat and what your program does, it is entirely impossible for me to give you an answer to that. :slight_smile:
