Because that’s the amount of blocked players I see in blue color when I look at past 30 minutes of my queues. These players sandbag games so hard it’s throwing and some of them have been so toxic that I don’t feel comfortable at all playing with any of them, yet I can’t queue in a game without one of these players in my team. Just now I dodged 7 games, of which 2 were Paris/LC, and couldn’t find a game without one of these players. Obviously I’d be more than happy to try and stomp these players as my opponents, but the fact that they’re constantly in my team while I actively juggle them out of my games is just completely ruining entire sessions. Sometimes I give up and give some of them a chance yet have not succeeded to have any fun while playing with these players hence why I feel extremely uncomfortable playing with them. My theory at this point is that everyone else that I see regularly basically thinks the same way and avoids them too which is why this happens quite often.
Now if instead of just 3 avoid slots I’d have 7 avoid slots to use, I would play this game so much. Just that would increase my gameplay experience drastically. In fact I would probably play the game extremely actively with those. Note that I’m well aware that leaving is considered “cowardly” and I would very much prefer staying in the games that I get, but this personally ruins my enjoyment of the game to a degree where I would rather leave King’s Row attack if it meant dodging one of these players. I would love to “get over it” or “be the bigger man” and stick to these games, but that would trump the reason for me to open the game up at all which makes it a massive issue with leaving being the only option to try and savior the game in any kind of way
Honestly the only way to consistently dodge these players is to stack up with my friends, but considering how almost nobody plays the game actively anymore (thanks to Sigma’s release and other various issues) that’s not an option 9/10 times I play the game. We could really use a few extra avoid slots in the game to help the solo queue experience not just for players who go through things like me, but those teammates that (very unfortunately
) have to go through leavers in their teams

Tiered avoid slots.
3 permanent
3 that last a month
3 that last a week.
More avoid slots can be bought with coins.
3k = 1 permanent
2k = month
1k = week

Dude I would literally be ready to pay extra 60€ and basically rebuy the game for every additional avoid slot that I could get. If it were the +4 that would make 240€. I would pay that. No jokes. No grindable in-game currency. No Kappas. That’s how much I like this game, that’s how much I feel like having to put up with this makes the gameplay worse and that’s how much I think it would improve my gameplay experience.
I like this idea though, but how would it work in practise? Could you unavoid these players like you can right now?
It would continue to work as it does now - no need to change something if it’s working.
I imagine you could buy slots either from the shop or from the avoid page.

Endorsement level 1: 2 avoid slots
End lvl 2: 3 avoid slots
End lvl 3: 5 avoid slots
End lvl 4: 7 avoid slots
End lvl 5: 9 avoid slots.
This works out for people who mostly play in 4-5 stacks, they naturally get endorsed less and since the group as a whole essentially has more slots than solo players they will not be able to use 28-35 avoid slots dragging down the matchmaker unless they’re a new group filled with lvl 4 endorsement people.

If avoid can be bought with coin, I’ll instantly spend my 100K to fill them up. Then I can add 5 names to them every time I lose a “forced loss” game that the matchmaker puts down to my throat.

What happens if you lose your endorsement levels?
Also bump it up by one, since we have 3 to begin with
Idk, I figure the oldest names become grayed out to indicate they’re no longer avoided and if you happen to level up endorsement before they expire they become active again.
That way they don’t just disappear.
I’ll leave the specifics of how many you get for each endorsement level up to blizz, I’m just pitching a rough idea. ^^

Omg, please. I’d give anything. I need more. MORE!

You still don’t get why they will NEVER add this. They don’t want people that one-trick to get punished for playing their hero. If you had more avoid slots these players would never get games. It’s as simple as that. Forget about even asking about this ever again.

There’s a difference between having unlimited avoid slots and 4 more.
There’s also no reason to be rude simply because you disagree.

Ooh I actually like this very very much considering how you lose endorsement level from leaving and getting reported basically. This would not just answer the massive issue of constantly having to dodge certain players because of the lack of avoid slots, but it would also highly discourage leaving meaning less backfilling, give endorsement levels an actual purpose meaning that players might actually care about them and being nice to each other, and it would also consider the group dynamic. However I think that the avoid slots should be limited in groups, possibly turning the nametags gray that aren’t avoided when you enter a group, because lvl 3 is very common even in 6 stacks as they don’t always stack up like that, giving them realistically ~10 slots more. Otherwise I think this is a very great idea!
Yeah who cares about spending them on cosmetics if you could actually make your gameplay experience substantially better with them? Shut up and take my credits!
Except they’re completely impartial to one-tricks and don’t consider them at all when making decisions towards the game. In fact they are constantly trying to shift and design the game towards a rock-paper-scissors-like meta where heroes’ would be balanced so finitely(?) that the meta comp would vary a lot depending on the map you’re playing and the heroes’ that you opponents and teammates are playing. Through that they’re already indirectly and coincidentally eliminating the breathing space for one-tricking to begin with also this:
It’s not like a few extra avoid slots would have considerable effects on the queue times of +98% of the playerbase and if it ever caused issues in environments like Grandmaster/Top500, they could simply limit the amount of avoid slots back down to 3-4 +4k SR games where it could actually have an impact on certain players’ gameplay experience, granted that they would care about it as they’re directly responsible for their own behavior and that no normal high tier player that flexes and plays the game properly for a win would have any issues with this
BTW I ended up stacking last night and man I had so much fun we played until 3am, which is 3 hours after my originally planned time to go to bed. But right now, I’m on my new alt account learning new fun DPS heroes and destroying teams, because when I tried to queue on my main account the same issue of instantly filling my avoid list and then juggling them on and off on it continued through 5 games in a row. Again. In other words currently I can’t enjoy my gameplay on my main account without excessive and cringe manual work that I have to do with the list, so this is pretty much the only option for me if I want to just click play and have fun

Imagine if they had unlimited avoid slots, no one would ever find a game because everyone would have avoided everyone
Yeah that sounds very dumb.
Then it’s a good thing OP is asking for 4 more avoid slots and not unlimited!
Yeah it’s not like I’m asking for these slots out of spite and it’s not like I’m not aware of what changes like this would mean for the game. If I sincerely thought that 4 more slots would actually have a negative impact on the game I wouldn’t ask for it, but I don’t think it would have that at all and this is something I personally would desperately need as explained in the original post. This is something I’m asking out of necessity.
