Can I be banned for remotely playing overwatch?

Hello,

I’m going on a trip and would like to continue playing the game on my laptop which is remotely connected to my computer.

Will I be banned because of this ? I use AnyDesk.

Thank you

Dude… Just go on the trip and do not play this game. I’m sure you won’t be missing out anything great anyway.

if its your account it is not against rules, its only ban worthy if its someone elses account

Only problem i could see if soft you use to play remotely would be seen by automatic detection as a cheating program of some sorts, that is hard to tell with automatic sytems.

Please tell us more about your setup

Unless you are connecting from multiple IPs simultaneously, then no, people play bnet games online while away from their house all the time.

Doubt it.

If it makes you feel better I and others use VPN and haven’t been screwed yet.

the input latency would feel awful, just play on your laptop if you have to play

Strangely not at all, it’s quite fluid, but I don’t think I’m making a real game, probably just custom games.

As long as you turn your hacks off you should be good.

No.

I often travel and play, never got any issues.

Course not. Besides, why use anydesk to play the game? You can just use parsec which is made exactly for that lol

It should be noted that as backwards as this may seem for whatever reason Blizzard does have rules against cloud gaming…

Although I haven’t run into problems playing the game over boosteroid so far or moonlight in my local home network…

See 1 minute into this video…

So do it at your own risk and not on your main account…

banned? unlikely, Suspended for games being dropped by the remote connection breaking? possible
being yelled at online for doing this? Probably

I really doubt the game can tell you’re remote playing unless they’re harvesting data about who uses nvidia now/common services.

not sure. I mean if you are controlling the computer from a distance and it isn’t making you “ghost” by avoiding potential hits. Than I think you are perfectly fine.

I know that getting a person’s “fix” for overwatch is necessary and sometimes a person doesn’t have that option to play directly.

I dont think it is a “ban” offense. Good question for the devs to have them post!

What kind of a stupid response is this? They want to play while on the trip.

No.

It’s not a stupid response. It’s a legit advice. Who in the right mind wants to play this sorry game while on a trip? Don’t be this addicted at least. Jesus Christ

You are absolutely not going to have a good time playing OW over remote desktop.
