I had a match where a Genji used his ult and I stunned him as Brig but the ult continued after. At least thats how it appeared. Im curious if Brig, Doom, McCree or anyone else can interrupt his ult or if his cannot be interrupted period.
They can waste 1-2 seconds of it, but just followup the stun and kill him.
there is a tiny brief second only the genji player can notice that it can be interrupted, but it doesn’t take the ult charge away, it just kinda cancels the ult for a second, but no once the “transformation” has happened its not interruptible.
Channeling ults can be interrupted, not transformation ults.
Gotcha, thanks folks
I’ve seen Ana sleep him and a Rein teammate charge him during the start up animation.
All I have ever done is zone him with Dva’s ult or discord him with Zen to cut into time limit usage of ult or Transcendence
funny how Mei’s is a “channeled” even if she just tosses it and forgets it
same thing with tracer, shes not alone I think if a projectile ults all count as channeled, so if they don’t get past the activation frames they don’t go off unfortunately.
They are actually cast type ultimates and not channeled.
I do think the rules of cast time ultimates should be different from channeled abilities though, just like transformation ultimates.
Blizzard and Pulse Bomb are Cast ults like Orisa and Hammonds. They shouldn’t disapear once thrown.
im pretty sure you can cc orisa to stop her ult
You can but only during the cast time.
True, but this is not case thanks to latency and favor-the-shooter.
What happened on the screen of the Mei player hasn’t happened yet on the screen of the enemy. If the animation has already finished on Mei’s screen but not on the enemy’s screen can the enemy still cancel it.
- The latency cause the delay.
- Favor-the-shooter give the enemy the priority.
Mei’s ultimate has a cast time of 1.5 seconds. In the first 0.5 seconds should it be cancelable. This is not the case thanks to latency and favor-the-shooter. It has been extended to 0.7 seconds or higher depending on the latency.
Blizzard can probably never fix the dissappearing projectile ultimates unless they change the rules of cast ultimates.
then they simply have different cast times
orisa is probably much shorter than mei’s
Genji ult is a transformation ult. Like winston. Can’t be taken away once cast.
I see, I guess it can “stop the cast”
As you mentioned, it is a stun so it interrupted his ult but does not break it.
I think that what you are looking for, is to snap him out of Dragonblade i.e. break.
Far as i know, no.
Genji’s ult,like soldier’s ult,cannot be stopped completely.
Killing him stops his ultimate
Indeed. that works 100% all of the time
They do, the problem is Mei’s a Tracer’s cast time includes travel times for the projectile.
