Can doomfist survive a fully charged widow headshot?

lately the main reason I can’t climb with widow is because of doomfist. genji’s and tracers aren’t really a problem, so if some widow players would give me some tips on how to deal with him

Depends on how many shields he has. You won’t see a good Doomfist coming until it’s too late

it seems like a pretty awful matchup. with genji you at least get one chance, but with doomfist, you get one chance to hit the headshot unless he has shields charged in which case you get to hit a headshot and still lose.

you do know DF only has one ability to get into the air, and even then if you’re high enough he wont be able to reach you.

and unless he is 1 shoting u after his uppercut, you could pretty easy slingshot to another ledge where he is waiting on his uppercut CD again. good widows will just slingshot to another ledge when classes try to dive them.

yeah so basically I need to not play grounded. some maps don’t have high ground though.

if he hit some abilities yes, he can have up to 400 hp

Those are probably maps where Widow just isn’t the right pick. Probably.

Widow headshot does 300 HP damage. Doomfist’s base HP are 250. He gets 35 shield hp per enemy hit with an ability, 75 if he hits anyone with the ult.
So if he hits 1 ult or 2 people with a slam he’ll survive a fully powered headshot.

Do you actually believe this? Why don’t you take some personal responsibility?

lol when you win 7-8 matches when the enemy have a better tracer and higher ranked dps of every other char but then lose to even low rank doomfists then you know a doomfist problem. maybe you should stop spouting the freaking retarded bull that goes all over these forums and get the hell out of my thread. goamn people like you are the worst

Awareness. You need to have his presence in the back of your head. The best thing is to take high ground, drop when he dives, then grapple when he dives again. Not easy, but he should be defenseless if he does use all his cooldowns.

yeah I will work on it. htat sounds extremely strong vs him as long as you have access to high ground. I was playing widow on a map without it, which probably isn’t optimal anyway

Oh yeah you’re definitely in trouble in that case. I suppose you could juke him and grapple away in that scenario?

yeah when I thought about it it seems like juking the punch and then grappling the E is better, but in the match I just panic and always grapple when he’s coming, that’s why I wanted to try thinking about what the best option is.

I do better with ashe but I don’t even know the range on her coach gun. does it work on doomfist punch similar to a lucio boop on a rein charge, where they get knocked back but are going to keep flying towards you afterwards?

Juking the punch is a bit difficult against good doomfists so I wouldn’t recommend trying that 24/7. Practice makes perfect though.

The coach gun has very limited range but high knockback. I’m don’t think you can really boop doomfist as he moves quite fast but you could always boop yourself into the air

What part of “public discussion forum” don’t you understand?

I’m a Zenyatta main and I’m not whining about Doomfist holding me down because Doomfist isn’t holding me down. I adapted. Get good.

because saying “I can’t climb because of Doomfists” instead of “I can’t climb because I’m not good enough to outplay DF, or willing to swap to counter him when needed” takes the personal accountability out of the equation

If he has a ton of shielding, armor or nanoed, he can survive a headshot.

His hitbox is huge though.

He dies to a fully charged headshot on base health and below, even with a few shields. A fully charged headshot does 300 dmg, if he’s at or below that, he’ll die.

No, you need to be aware of him. Hooking into your team before he gets to you isn’t hard, just practice and he soon won’t be a problem.
