Can Anyone Prove That They Can Outplay 3 Ults?

Had some fairiebread in another thread say that getting hit with 3 ults every time the enemy team builds ult would lead to a victory royale with cheese for me.

Im sure that this is a pro strat commonly seen in pro overwatch.

I mean which three ults?

I feel like I could outplay a Kiriko/Mei/Tracer ult combo (if I’m also playing Tracer).

i think as a base standard we could start with ults from your hardest counters.

Uses zen, hold on ult. Press Q to counter 3 ults, then outplays 3 ults.

basically whenever i play mei, im not very good at mei like i thought i was so i actually build ult really slow.

and zens will hold for 2 points just to counter mei.

It absolutely would. You seem to not understand what the person was arguing. 3 ults to kill one person is very inefficient. 3 ults is enough to kill 3 people. So if your team kills 3 people and their team kills 1 person then its now a 4v2 and you should win that every single time. I cant simplify that argument more than that.

IIRC, the guy in the other thread was arguing that even if he died to three ults, it’s not the end of the world because that means they spent a ton of resources on that one fight. That can cost the enemy in the longer term. It’s possible to win a battle but lose the war.

Edit: Curse you, Devils.

what kind of teammates am i getting if the enemy team consists of a 4 stack?

i had a very good day on tuesday night dealing with ult spam, but they werent stacked. yes i did win a lot of those games, but against a coordinated effort its impossible to counter unless i play ball, winston or maybe orisa.

should i try and find 1 code of that or?

what happens if it happens every time the enemy team get their ults?

i mean if an enemy is good enough to deal with 1 ult, then using 3 to make sure he dies would be quite effective if you ask me especially if hes the lynchpin.

i lost 2 games in a row, even though i gave up i would have lost anyway as they would have hit me with ults even harder.

If you mean survive 3 ults…Yes, I can do that sometimes when I tank. I have a clip here. Let me see…

It’s at the end of first checkpoint. I get hit with a dva ult. Torb ult and hanzo dragons. I survive.

In theory, Sombra could instantly shut down with her ult an Orisa, Moira, Illari, Mei, and Ashe ult storm.

In practice… well, I’m sure it’s happened at least once.

If the argument was that burning a bunch of ults to take out one person is a grossly inefficient use of resources, then that person was correct.

i understand what youre saying but i feel like you guys are using as an example of what happens when bad players waste their ults after the team fights already won or lost with specific targeting of a player with certain ults.

Yes but think about it in terms of resources spent.

If you gave people money to bid on items at an auction, and the item is worth about $50, you can secure it for sure with a $150 bid, but you just wasted a bunch of your budget and cant bid on other items.

Spending 3 ults to kill a single player would largely be considered a huge waste in any mode other than total mayhem, unless it’s during overtime. You may win the current fight, but you’d put yourself at a huge disadvantage for the few fights.

Used to be able to do this during the first year of Overwatch when I had a static team.

Generally I’m understanding this to be one ultimate from each role.

Exactly, all it takes is for the enemy to stagger their own ultimates on a lost fight and misuse them. It’s easy to outplay when they mess up!
