Calling All Mercy Mains!

Share your Mercy tips with me. I’m trying to up my support game and mercy will be a big asset. I want to mostly know your key bindings because super jump is really fun but It feels kinda clunky and I’d like to know better ways to do it. Also any secret mercy tips to play her better. Thanks!

i bind crouch to my mouse side button as mercy so its easier to push crouch and space at the same time. i pull of super jumps a bit more doing that, tho i am hardly an expert mess up a lot on it, dont have that feeling yet

Pull out the glock and go kill things. You know damn well your Dps won’t. And if they won’t. You will. Too bad you can’t pocket the best player on your team. YOU.

  • if theres a sniper, do not super jump a lot

  • Dont rez in dumb places

  • Dont rez people who have low ult charge or isnt good for the battle

  • heal and dmg boost (optional)

  • juggle beams

  • learn every mercy tech

  • get better at positioning

  • look at guides on YT (mainly Niandra)

  • the upper the ladder you go, the less you should superjump

  • pull out mercys shot gun only when defending yourself

I’ve been killed by a nano’d battle mercy before. I’m still traumatized

Precisely. Don’t expect your Dps to get kills. Because they won’t. So pick up your glock. Tell your Ana “NANO ME, OR PERISH” and go kill everyone.
You are welcome.

what does this mean?

Change between target. For example damage boost the rein, the Zarya, fhe mccree, the Ashe, the zen, everyone on your team instead of just one. And healing too. And also change between healing and dAmage consistently.

Not a Mercy Main but she is in my top 3 for supports-I have the normal key binding for SJ. Shift for GA and ctrl for crouch. My hands sorta has my pinky just naturally laying over both keys so I don’t change it.

I have heard that if you try to bind the commands to different peripherals -like one on mouse one on keyboard the delay between them can cause you to not do it correctly (Star2D2 had that issue and never used SuperJump until she found that out.)

Then there are others who bind GA to F and and keep ctrl as crouch because now their pinky is free and they can press both in that sequence.

THEN there are some who has F as GA and shift for crouch because the natural pressing shift+f of capitalizing letters.

One HUGE tip is to remember you can look ALL AROUND YOU. Use that to make calls and to also keep sights of flight paths open to you. YOU have the ability to know where enemies are coming from on the map since you can look around.

So another thing to take note is map awareness. Know the nooks and crannies and popular flank paths because then you can warn your teammates and ensure your safety as well.

i usually make sure everyone is full health before i damage boost tho that may not be the best strategy. i hate people dying on me. in no pro gm mercy player but lol hell if anyone is dying on my watch

I.e. always rez in the middle of the enemy team

This is at least what most Mercys I meet do

You should alternate between healing and damage boost because your healing will not be enough to keep them alive, but the extra damage they cause might be enough to kill the aggressor.

Currently I have GA on shift and crouch on c. It feels pretty easy that way although I think there might be better options.

Key Bindings

  • Crouch: Side Button On Mouse
  • Melee: F
  • Guardian Angel: Shift
  • Resurrect: E
  • Valkyrie: Q

Settings

  • Beam Toggle: ON
  • Guardian Angel Prefers Beam Target: OFF
  • Toggle Guardian Angel: ON
  • Guardian Angel Sensitivity: 80
  • Beam Sensitivity: 80

I know that some Mercy mains like to have the Beam Toggle OFF and Guardian Angel Prefers Beam Target ON, but I feel that restricts my movement in-game, so I highly recommend you don’t have those settings. My settings ensure that my movement is as unhindered as possible.

Probably my best tip would be to take high ground (with cover, of course) as often as you can when healing your team as that gives you a better vantage point than if you’re just behind everyone. Using your team for mobility purposes is also great - You don’t have to fly to the person you’re healing. Zarya could need healing, say, but it might be better in that moment to fly up to Soldier who’s standing on the high ground and stick your beam onto Zarya from above. It’s simple stuff, but sometimes the simple things are the most important.

yep its a judgement call sometimes, it depends on the player your boosting too since you have to assume he will kill the target before the target kills him so if you solo queue best idea is to top him off first then damage boost

if i know its a smurf player then yea ill be lenient on the heal till the last second

Am I fhe only one who didn’t change a single thing from base setting and just adapted? The only change I made was ultimate from Q to E, and nothing else.

I mean if it’s what works for you, you go for it lol. :+1: :yum:

Those are the most common options I know of.

However the most important thing is to make sure it just feels natural. If it feels like a hassle to do then it’s probably not a good set up.

I also mention the peripheral thing because I know some players will have GA on mouse and keep crouch on keyboard. As I mentioned Star2D2 had that set up, and she mentioned how she just couldn’t get SJ to work. She made it pretty high up (I think Diamond) without it, but she did eventually find the problem when she had to replace her mouse and used a different one for a short time.
