As D.va, calling a mech onto someone requires a significant charge-up time followed by approaching someone and standing still as a character with only 150 HP. The opportunities to actually make use of the added damage without an excessive risk of death are fairly rare.
As Echo, the charge-up is instantaneous, so you can start channeling Call Mech from relative safety inside your previous mech that’s still in the process of being destroyed (or about to self-destruct).
Perhaps more importantly, if it fails and you “die” in Duplicate, you don’t lose a player, so the risk that makes squish attempts questionable for D.va doesn’t apply to Echo. You can faceplant straight into someone, try to trap them in the process, lose the mech, and immediately plop another one on top of them before they can get away.

Have to say I’m not a fan of the Echo damage nerf on Zarya. Gonna be way harder to get a grav off in the 12s.

It’s true because before the buff I didn’t transform into D.Va as much but now I do because how many chances I have to get instant kills with both ults

this is so funny to me. any buff to any character is a buff to echo, also on the other side any nerf to any character is a nerf to echo. the reaper range buff is a buff to echo, the nerf to mccree in the exc is a nerf to echo LUL.

The D.Va buff is nice. My problem is the caat time is so long. And that even though you see the animation drop a mech and you die they don’t take damage. Call mech should do the damage sooner to help Survivability, It would be nice to have a shockwave knockback with a double the radius of the damage hitbox as well to be able to use it more midfight.
Of course this is good for echo but you can only use it when facing a D.Va. Zarya I feel is the most common offtank to face in matches and her lazers counter D.Va too well.
It really is but now you get a bonus. Potential kill and extra life within a life.

I agree .
most of the heroes buffs are indirect small buffs to Echo (DVA buff , Reaper buff … ) , and the opposite is true .
Funny thing to mention , in an OWL match , one recall mech got 3 kills (2 supports and 1 DPS) .
Because the way to use that is after you use the mech as ult and then get your summon instantly. Everyone scatters and it’s way easier to sneak up on someone then. You really shouldn’t be trying to go for it after your mech gets destroyed and you farm your charge back up.
