I still hear a lot of people in my games asking what C9 is or using it wrong.
C9 was made popular in an OW league game where cloud 9 had a clear player advantage in the game everyone was too busy fragging to notice their point getting basically solo capped.
C9 is NOT:
Getting whole hogged away from point while desperately trying to touch.
Running off for a quick second to try to survive and prolong the fight.
Ana in her line of sight trying to snipe heal her tank to prolong fight.
C9 imo happens too frequently mostly because of a lack of sufficient on screen prompts, and audio queues provided. Clock checking is super important but also sort of annoying to do when trying to hit shots and survive. Also, it can be eye-straining on larger screens to keep looking up to read the clock. Honestly, some people just need lots of sounds and flashy things from the hud to get their attention and realize the urgency.
C9 also frequents players who expect their tanks to touch, which it is correct, but everyone has to contribute especially players like lucio, mei, tracer, and others who are most survivable at doing this. Eventually everyone dies on point, don’t feel bad, you’re taking one for the team
