Would this c9 button be used to alert the team that the point is being capped, or to send a message mocking the enemy team for c9ing? I’m not sure I get it

People say c9 for just about anything these days. I could leave point to kill someone, we keep the point defended but someone still says c9

Maybe it’s a button to eject the enemy team from the point, thus causing a C9? 
This does not work. Something more motivating is needed.
can you imagine if you were one of the people on Cloud9 and not only is C9 the name the playerbase uses for screwing up like you did, but now it’s officially in the game as a C9 in the ping wheel?
