Buying on PS4 and PC is a RIPOFF

so i have an account on PS4 that i have been playing since season 3, finally decided to buy OW for my PC. keep in mind OW on my PS4 is linked to my blizz account that i have been using for over a decade. when i get OW on my PC i am very displeased to find out ALL of my progress on the PS4 does not carry over to my PC version of the game, because they say it is all tracked separate on the servers and cannot cross over.

Its whatever, at least now im happy to play OW with my son. NOPE cannot do that either despite buying 2 different versions of the game, that are not “the same” according to blizz as to the reason why my account cannot cross over to the PC from PS4.

this is outrageous, i have bought 2 copies of the game. if i cannot share the same account with the same progress on both versions that share the same account, why on EARTH would i be blocked from signing into both accounts at the same time? they are treated as not the same, except for when im trying to play both at the same time. Blizz you prove yourselves to be IDIOTS, yet again.

also a side note, its stupid AF that on console i cannot use mouse and keyboard despite opting into cross platform play. im totally okay with playing against PC players, and still forced to use a controller. Another dumb oversite.

I feel like some research would have saved you a lot of headache here

I presume that cross-platform progression will be implemented with Overwatch 2 or not at all.

I own Overwatch on both PC and Switch, bought the Switch Version a few months ago during a period when my Gaming PC was broken and couldn’t afford replacement parts, but that problem has since been solved. I intentionally bought the Switch Version over other console versions because it was essentially a portable version of the game which offered a different experience with optional gyroscopic motion controls. It’s also nice because it allows me to play Overwatch online with my little brother. I knew going in that there was no cross-platform progression because I looked it up prior to my purchase, and although it would be nice if the game had it, I don’t mind having to build my way back up in a separate version because it gives me something more to do.

I don’t know how different the PS4 Version is from the PC Version, or whether your PC is capable of running the game at higher settings/framerate than the PS4, but regardless, you now have access to the superior version with KB+M Controls and you don’t have to pay any additional fees to play it online either, so be happy with that.

i didnt care to much that my progression did not carry over. but the fact that it does not carry over, and i also cannot play on them separately is a total joke. it should allow for one purchase to cover all consoles if they will only allow it to work on one at a time.

again some research would have solved this

With PS4 version you can make a new user, setup a new blizzard account, and play on that for no extra charge. It’s how everyone has alt/Smurf accounts on console. Unfortunately this means neither of the accounts you’re playing on have progress, but you can play together.

He could also relink the current play station account to another bliz account and keep all the progress

Complaining on the forums isn’t gonna help ya bud, cross progression doesn’t exist yet, and using Mouse and Keyboard on console totally defeats the purpose of having a console in the first place.

It’s not a ripoff if you didn’t google some basic questions that would’ve taken 5 seconds

Console players don’t get matched with PC players that’s why. Only if you’re in custom games.
