Ok so I’m sure by now you’ve all heard the news that Blizzard has removed the option to buy lootboxes in Overwatch and Heroes of The Storm in Belgium because of the gambling law.
And that’s all well and good, and I understand why, BUT, as a Belgian I really still want to buy them and god I’m really hoping they come back, but until then is there any other way to still get them from the store besides getting them as gifts from someone else?
I’m just thanking all my lucky stars I bought all my boxes at the start of the event and didn’t wait or I would have missed out on all the new skins in the event.
About 95% of Belgians buy lootboxes monthly. This will be a huge hit for the lootmarket and will cause people to leave the country.
Make a new account based in another country, buy loots as gifts and gift it to yourself.
Idk but does a VPN work? lol
Never tried, i can’t say if it works or not. Probably not since your account it’s already tied to a country. Lootboxes must be bought from somewhere.
May as well be disabled here because they aren’t getting any more money out of me.
Yeah I don’t think that that would work since they probably use the IP address to locate what country you’re from to block that stuff.
I’m sure you will be able to by them again at some point. probably just have to switch it to buying in game money or something

That’s great for you and I understand why you’d say that, but personally I got quite a lot of joy out of treating myself to some lootboxes every now and then, so I hope they come back.
A VPN would pass that, but like i said, it’s more likely that the Blizzard account is tied to a country. It doesn’t matter from where you log in into it, the account’s country does not change. Now that i think about it, maybe by changing the country you are from in the Blizzard account might bypass the ban. I did not try it and i don’t guarantee anything, is just a guess.
Oh yeah, you’re probably right. I can totally see them change to having to buy credits instead of blind boxes. I’d be ok with that tbh.
