I think a players growth / skill is found in the moments where you say take on that unbalanced load.
I think it’s good and you’re right.
As a veteran player I’m pretty tired of being queued with people who don’t choose to embrace the same battle; it often ends with me trying to take on the load and all the responsibility (toxicity) that comes with it.
-I know I have my places for improvement when it comes to communication & shot-calling but the ideal for me is I could solo queue and find those rare “all on the same page” teams.
To me that’s always felt like a match making thing but I would repeat my same bit about chaos & panic in my last reply.

my 80% win rate from 2000-3000 on the korean server must have been luck. the constant stream of enemy players leaving the game after their genji’s 2nd blade in 4 min gets blocked by lucio ult must have been my imagination too.
lucio can hard carry at the lower ranks, and is probably one of the strongest characters in the game if the enemy team is relying on ults for kills (common at lower ranks and with any comp involving genji).
also every time I play with my low rank gold friends I end up with 4-5 kills in the lucio stream…which doesn’t make any sense to me, but lucio definitely carries low ranks hard. Until the enemy coordination gets good enough to quickly kill a rogue lucio killing their backline, lucio carries.
And after you hit the point, yeah the hard carrying by killing everyone gets more difficult, but you start just winning games by pressing E at the right time cause your teammates are more competent.
I’ve seen so many games where the enemy ana is better than anyone on our team, but the E press gets her rein killed and their team loses anyway.
I think what makes this post weird to me is that lucio is claimed to have low carry ability.
Brig and mercy…those are the only places where I feel even slightly less relevant than DPS, and honestly mercy is fine at the higher ranks for having impact. Brig would be fine if people played around you, but I can’t really complain about that if I’m locking brig in comps it isn’t good in.
OW characters have good impact, including supports

smurfs are problem only for those who don’t improve e.g hardstucks, tell me now smurfs are bigger problem than plat hardstucks!

Smurfs are problem for pretty much anyone but only in individual games. It is of course not fair to play agaisnt someone several ranks above you. But I dont think anyone can blame the smurfs for their position in ranks in general. Smurfs can affect some of your games 25 SR here and there, but not your rank if you play enough.

Agreed, also I think with right approach you can consider a smurf as an opportynity to get more experience for free, which you don’t get from your regular game. That way I remember being 3300 hardstuck, just skyrocketed to GM in one season, they’ve tought me a lot in diamond, so I felt masters rank was kinda meh…2nd plat like.

No one disputes you can carry, no one ever had issue is you have to outperform your rank by 50%-100% to advance. Not only is it unrealistic, it is devastating for the quality of the matches as well as the experience as a whole. A good system a realistic system is that you can win and climb by outperforming the competition by 10-20%. Imagine if athletes had to be 100% better to advance to the next level.
“If you ain’t balling like you are Michel Jordan do not expect to play basketball in high school” like those metric would be absurd to follow. There has to be a reasonable gain for a reasonable amount of effort and skill. Top 500 can obviously carry games but for them to even lose a single game below GM is ridiculous. You would never see another pro player in other games lose to players like that, ever. It does not happen. You can pop 60+ people and still lose, top 500 players pop that many and still lose, it absurdity. And it is not just “oh the other team played well”.

Do you think Michael Jordan didn’t ball out in high school?

He sure did but he made it to the top 500 no? Do you believe all his teammates did? Did non of them deserve to advance from the juniors? Everyone can not be 100% better is my point. Every rank does certainly not represent a 100% increase in skill coz the system allows them to advance for free just as many suffer the opposite end of that rope thou.

True i play support and we almost never get Flames.
superior skilled player destroys those who are far less skilled, more to come on this unexpected development tonight on the 11:00 news
Its an easy mistake. Eskay was a male until this year.
I can confirm. As a dps and support player. Everything is my fault as dps but as support I can do the dumbest stuff and not a word. Same goes for tanks.

So just become a top 500 player (learning to play like him) so you can beat all the plats and finally climb, you say.
Eskay is one of the best Lucio players.
But yes if you have the time to devote to the game you can learn and climb.
No, you dont need to play like top500 to climb from plat of course. Playing like diamond is enough. But the better your skill is, the faster you will climb. My point was that even support role can hard carry match. Keep in mind that enemy team had top500 player too.

I bet if that Lucio traded teams with the other top 500 tank he would lose.
Jayne was setting that up so I guess he tried to make teams even.

Lmao, he’s carrying in plat. Key word hete being ‘plat’.
I’m not saying this guy isn’t good, but it’s easy to be a smurf in any role and carry in plat, assuming you play above plat. You don’t need to be top500.
This proves nothing.
