After a massive game server failure, the game still will do it. I noticed earlier before the hard crash there was this lag hiccup. After an hour or so later, the hard crash.
Now i was just playing a game, which we won btw, i noticed in a hallway where i was fighting against 2 at a time, got me killed because i noticed the same exact server lag. I run a 2 TB Fiber Optic, up and down speeds, hard wire. So there is no way im lagging, and im not using wifi.
When you notice a lag hiccup, indeed its either you or the server. Proof, since the entire game of Overwatch 2 crashed, it kicked off everyone, or at least in the US. I assume there are servers for other countries but the main one here in California (West), failed.
After like 10 minutes, it did go back on but a middle finger if you were about to win the game by Blizzard. Now noticing the game doing the hiccups again, it only happens once in a blue moon but assuming people left and didnt bother to go back on, may have lightened the server.
Conclusion, the servers need an upgrade, which they wont do because if it costs money, they wont, and you know how they love money. This very thing happened when Helldivers 2 was overloaded by the amount of people on it. Around 100,000, they upgraded it to 200,000, still crashed. So who knows if Blizzard can hold that many or did they nerf the amount on a server to save costs. Something we wont know. I could be wrong but when theres a lot of people playing in a sitting, server connection error if it cant handle it.
Im no expert but just from reading and experience from other games, common sense only tells me there was a ton of people playing today at the timing of this topic. Since it failed, some people didnt bother to get back on, so it seems its running fine now but i do noticed some server lag.
If you’ve ever had a match where it would crash, reset right about where you were almost done with the match, winning or losing, and it resets to another map with 0 kills, and 0 deaths, and the match starts over again. I had that before, that is server connection error. But this time, it couldnt connect, it retry 2 times, and failed.
Im leaving this report, i really hope Devs will get this but i have my doubts. Devs you need to do something about the server lag, and the amount of people on it because if you cant handle a full server, you have some upgrading to do or at some point, it can totally corrupt the game as it keeps crashing. Ive seen a game called Minion Masters where it did just that and it was down for a full day 24 hours.
Diablo 4 when it first launched had the same problem.
