There’s something wrong with my account. No matter how many games I win, I’m stuck in Bronze 2. First time it happened, I won 5 games (did not lose 15 games) and got put into Bronze 3 so my rank got lowered for winning 5 games instead of being increased to Bronze 1. I put that down to chance so I continued playing. 15 wins later in still in Bronze 2. Each time I get 5 wins and think I’m going to go up in the ranks, it pops up with Bronze 2 again. How do I fix this? And just to be clear the issue is not that I’m loosing 15 games and being moved down because I usually have more wins than losses in each set of 5.
Edit- Just this season I’ve won 11 games and only lost 9 so I should have moved up 2 ranks and yet I’m still in Bronze 2 so I really don’t know what is wrong with it.

Did you play these games this season? I thought they changed the scoring. (edit… that’s next season, not this season)
You get adjusted after five wins or 15 losses. But your adjustment depends on your w/l ratio at that time.
So if you lose eight games and win five, you’ll lose SR. Or if you win ten games and lose 15, you’ll lose SR.
In fact, the system is kind of set up to screw you. If you consider that your win rate is a ratio, the numerator of which can never be greater than 5 and the denominator can be as high as 15, you are more likely to lose points if you play close to 50/50.
tl;dr: you need to win significantly more than half your games to raise your SR. Like 60%-65% in my experience. At 75% you should have no trouble climbing. But if you maintain close to a 50% win rate you will eventually drop all the way to the bottom.
I’ve also been told that if you move an account from console to PC you’ll never be able to get it as high as a new account. But I’ve really only played on PC so I couldn’t speak to that one.
I wouldn’t bet on that. My win rate so far this season is 93% over 3 rank adjustments and I’ve remained at the exact same rank.
out of bronze… I mean. I don’t know about gold and up. I can’t keep 75% in those tiers. But I know for sure you go down if you win half your games.

btw, if you want to save typing, for most ranks each tier is 100 points, and the last two digits are the percent. So S3/48% is an SR of 1748. Bronze and GM are compressed to account for the numbers of players in those divisions.
All that fancy tier stuff is just to make it more confusing and harder for you to track incremental gains/losses.
I uninstalled today. 5 rank adjustments I think, with overall win rate of 73%. Don’t move up a single division. Game decides to put me on a big loss streak with awful teams, probably to get my win rate down to 50%. Went 3-15 and yet, still the same rank.
The entire competitive system is rigged or broken, or more likely both. Their update next season won’t fix it, just like every other update didn’t before now. It’s not worth my time anymore so I’m out 
'Went 3-15" rookie number!. I once had 10-60. Can you imagine how much I suffered ?. The rank I got after 50 loses ??. I managed to climb back to my original rank but it was super depressive experience.
All this happened at the end of the season (S7).

You shouldn’t play any game that annoys you this much.
Actually If you Play and maintain atleast a 70% win rate you can climb out of bronze easily. I finished taking a bronze account to TP500
I’m also having this issue. No competitive progress updates. There is no way I go 4-1, 4-1, then 5-0 (sweating like a pig to carry bots vs. smurfstacks), and it doesn’t even update my “% of players at this rank”. Not even asking for bronze5 → bronze4, but the % players? You can’t not update with that kind of winrate/stats. Statistically it HAS to move. mmr, pbsr, etc → can’t account for always being pinned at “better than 26% of players” no matter what.
and yes sometimes the wins/data don’t even get recorded properly.
You’re not going up two ranks with an 11-9. You need to do better than that.

so youve played 20 games, lost 9 of them and won 11.
we know that each division within each rank (except bronze 5) is equivalent to 100sr
lets assume that you get +20 sr per win and -20 sr per loss
basic math shows us that (11 * 20)=220 total sr for your wins
basic math shows us that (9 * 20)=180 total sr for your losses
220-180=40
your net gain of sr was only 40, which is not enough to rank up to a new division.
its also important that its a ‘rank adjustment’ not a rank up
