Buffing dps is the solution?

Well, I think the title is explaining my question.
Do you think that blizzard can balance the game or at least defeat the goats by just buffing dps heroes?

No, because the more damage there is, the more tanks you want to bring. Tanks can’t be insta-killed.

You won’t solve GOATs with numerical changes short of sending multiple members of the comp to G-tier. Even so, there is no guarantee that what replaces it won’t just have the same problems, since the game punishes innovation at the top level as it’s currently set up.

goats is already dead for the majority of players. If you mean in the owl, in my opinion the only way they’ll “fix” their pro scene is by coming to terms with the fact that they’ll break any meta they’re given. They need to stop being so stubborn and take working systems from other pro scenes and implement them.

I say just nerf Brig. DPS has always been weaker to tanks and supports in pro play.

We’re already past nerfing Bridget. You can’t nerf her any further. Even the devs think she’s bad in a normal comp. so nerf her out of goats and then what?

Not really. If people run goats into quad DPS, there are not many ways they could buff the heroes without busting them for ladder.

Literally all they need to do is introduce more Anti heal mechanics with different % and BOOM goats solved

but noooo they have to nerf every single character 1 by 1

She’s bad in a 2-2-2. In triple support she is just better than any DPS that you could pick. If they some how made it so that you wouldn’t play Goats but not nerf Brig, you would still see triple support in pro play.

I still cry that we never got that change to Reaper that was literally hinted at in the comic. Thanks Blizz, your writers have a better idea about balance than the team dedicated to it. Rip.

Personally i dont even think goats is the issue its the longevity of goats that is.
Everyone welcomed 3-3 when it was killing dive because they were sick of it, now everyones (not literally everyone, theres always people who dont like change) welcoming bunker cause its beating 3-3

The problem isnt the comps its just how long they last.

The exact opposite problem of csgo where people complain over literally any meta change. Here, we just constantly want change.

The main problem with metas, as i pointed out in This thread

is that they just absolutely murder metas instead of making them less prevalent and add counters to it

if they hadnt killed dive we wouldnt have goats nor bunker metas beeing as dominant

I would like buffs to dps in the shape of changes that do nothing other than make there dps counterpart matches more balanced. So if a Widow comes out for an example Phara is still counterable but not so badly she feels unplayable like she currently does against decent widows. Every dps has that one other dps matchup that is titled way to hard against them. Make this go away and more comps should be playable

This would allow dps to actually be picked and lessen the need for a pure survival comps. The only reason goats is a thing is because surviviablity sucks if you don’t go all in on it. And you can’t go all in on it with dps as they are not built to deal with the receiving end of damage.

Ok, I see that each one has a different solution.
I don’t see any solution besides 2-2-2 role queue.

How many years does Overwatch have until it ends? I can’t tell about NA servers but EU is empty and SA as well.

I wonder why not the role queue at least in PTR? Or maybe for at least 1 season?

They can try, most dps heroes have been power crept out of relevancy.

Noooo, That’s power creep. The game needs a few really good and well thought out nerfs. If they buff DPS, stuff like the PTR Cree will happen.

They need to introduce more tank busters and make existing Tank Busters more effective at their role.
Reaper should have a passive that ignores Armor.
Pharah and Junkrat should deal 25% more damage to Armor (Kinda like how Torb’s Ult does) or deal extra damage to targets with larger character models (Have the splash damage apply to them twice).
Maybe even have damage that scales with a character’s HP.

Junk, Pharah and Reaper are all considered low tier because they’re easier to counter by other DPS characters - but they’d be deadly if the enemy team picks too many tanks.
