Bubble Bubble Immortality Rinse Repeat

Tank pick: Zarya

Bubble, bubble, immortality field. Bubble, Bubble, Immortality field. Ad infinitum.

Can we do something about the immortal zarya design now?

I couldn’t help but read that as Bubble Bobble

Well, it clearly isn’t just Zarya if she needs help from Baptiste to keep her immortal

Pop the Bubble. They have 200 health each, so they can be burst down quickly. Zarya is soon to follow if you keep focus on her.

We got a rhyme master here.

She can’t do any damage if she’s dead.

Get the whole team to focus on breaking the bubbles, they vanish almost immediately and then she just melts.

On the other hand, If the Bap is dead he can’t lamp her between bubble charges, so if you completely refuse to focus fire and melt her, then just pick off the healer and melt her while her bubbles are on cooldown.
If she bubbles the Bap (so he can still Lamp her) then she doesn’t have the extra bubble for herself and again, you can melt her while she’s vulnerable.

And anyway, there is a patch for the 25th that is expected to bring with it Zarya nerfs among other balance tweaks. They are working on it.

This is only a viable strategy if she is one shot and you need to get a pick on her before she gets healed. If she has half to full health, its almost a good idea to just ignore her and peel the rest of her team first. She has butter knife damage when she has 0 charge so i guess its all situational.

Agree. And Im thinking this is generally true about the flow of the game currently. Tanks, at least IMO, are pretty strong atm (I usually only play tank, so Im only hurting myself here). They often have as much or more damage than DPS, and are beefy AF. You do need more than two or three people to focus down tanks esp if they have a healer on them.

Therfor, its generally advantageous to wipe out the back line, even before dps. I guess this was almost always true, but more exacerbated now. This is why monkey is stronk AF too right now, for people that realize this.

Toil and trouble

yes well bap helps her survive the literal one second you can shoot her during her bubble cycle. she has her bubbles up more than DM is up. literally not joking. someone should stopwatch them and prove it.

it’s even worse when zar’s second bubble is on a reaper and creates a no-win situation.

.

Only shoot the bubble if she’s low HP and her teammates are respawning

This is a guide how to OW1 in Comp Tank role.

  1. Shoot every Zarya bubble.
  2. Watch Zarya melt your supports and dps
  3. Dive into a 1v5
  4. Blame team for no support
  5. Go on forums and complain that Zarya is overpowered

At no point did I say “You and only You should shoot the bubble” If only one person is shooting the bubble she’s a nightmare and best left for last. Though honestly, if no one is wiling to try to pop the bubble and burst her down then the match is probably going to be a loss anyway.

I have only said that the team should focus fire on the bubble to burst her down. Even with both bubbles she has less than 900 health (Less than 700 if she doesn’t have both bubbles). That melts pretty quickly under sustained focus fire from 3+ players. If you have a Mei you can stick the wall between Zarya and the rest of her team for easy focus fire.

I have honestly not found Zarya to be a problem in most of my matches, because she spends so much time dead from being focused down. Winston has been more problematic.

Isnt Baptistes lamp on like a 25s cooldown? How would this even be possible?

Maybe shoot the baptiste?

Lamp is on a 25s cooldown.

So even if you don’t pop the bubbles and just kill Zarya she is still only safe for 13 seconds (plus delays, so 15 at max):
2x bubbles 2.5s each
Lamp 5.5s
3rd bubble 2.5s (it’s on a 10s cooldown that starts when the first bubble is used)

At this point she is vulnerable for 5-7 seconds before another bubble can be used, safe for 2.5s and then vulnerable for another 7.5 seconds. Lamp still has ~5 seconds of cooldown left at this point.
