If there’s gyro controls on switch I see no excusó for not bring the option to PS5, I started playing on my switch and then bought a PS5 the controllers are capable and it can bring console gaming a step further in precision controls compared to PC and can also count as accessibility
It’s just an option you can turn off if you don’t want them, gyro controls are definitely not a gimmick and need to be implemented in FPS way more often
This is the least-stupid idea available to console shooters. Utilizing gyro controls to aim almost gives room for the same precision and response time as a mouse. Biggest advantage the beloved Steam controller had.
Genuinely curious how to even utilize the gyro (on switch) as I tend to have to turn it off because it makes my aiming worse and less precise when I have tried (both ow and other games that have it)
You have to reset your gyro positioning nearly 3 times a minute due to the lack of infrared that something like a Wiimote had. If you’re fine with that though, it definitely is “better” for precision.
I’m all for it. Though I guess Switch has it also because everyone has Joy Con on Switch.
Not everyone has PS-Move(or whatever it’s called, sorry) on Playstation.
And also maybe, just maybe, it’s a thing Nintendo insisted on having, the game also only runs at 30fps on Switch, so any advantages this would provide with crossplay on is overshadowed by the framerate.
I never played much wii, mainly also because I had issues trying to play it too with the whole gyro thing. Guess imma just keep it off.
I don’t use my joycons detached or even the whole system docked either. I do have a wireless controller I use on occasion. Gyro functions and my twitchy muscles just don’t work
The Dualsense has built-in Gyro. In reality though the market for just PS5 players is likely too small to devote some dev time to.

See I’d find it more natural with Wiimote-like controllers than a “classic” shaped controller.
as a dev, you likely have all platforms. personally and professionally. therefore its only a matter of time imo.
Why is this not impimented yet, all of the hardware is already there. I would love to play on my PS5 instead of switch but I play with Gyroscopic controlls. The game has become pretty much unplayable on switch because of the lag due to the ultra low framerate. Id hate to have to quit playing but the switch version is unbearable.
