Hello, I usually don’t post on Overwatch Forum so please be nice (also sorry for my english). I make this post also because Blizzard support told me to put this here.
During 1 year and a half, Tracer received 5 nerfs without any compensation and it’s getting really annoying to play her. To speak about the game in the globality, since season 9, health got massively increased, allowing more mistakes for any players and putting the game in a very bad state.
- Recall cooldown is awful
Currently the cooldown is at 13 sec and was at 12 sec since the beginning of the game. By increasing the cooldown by 1 sec, you just completely kill the habits players have. Moreover it didn’t change anything in the game beside just annoying people who play Tracer.
- Damage you deal as Tracer is so bad
One of the most satisfying thing you can do with Tracer is to one clip someone but its also something really hard to do. It was possible on Overwatch 1 and in some part of Overwatch 2. However since the health buff in season 9, its almost impossible to do it, so whats the point to nerf Tracer’s damage too ? I know Blizzard wanted to make Juno strong as the release by nerfing her only counter but now its time to bring back damage to at least punish ennemy mistakes.
Few numbers to get this very crucial point :
1- To kill a full hp Rein at 3 meters only by putting headshot →
Tracer takes 4.75 sec
Lucio takes 4.52 sec (with a boop at the end)
Illari takes 4.62 sec
Lifeweaver takes 3.61 sec
Genji takes 4.29 sec (with his close range shurikens) and 4.76 sec (with his poke shurikens)
2- Comparaison between OW 1 and OW 2 on a fair duel (Tracer vs Cassidy)
OW1 → Tracer was doing 6 per bullet, 12 sec recall and got 150hp / Cass was 225hp and can 2 tap (with a headshot) or 3 tap Tracer
OW2 → Tracer is doing 5.5 per bullet with 13 sec recall and have 175hp / Cass is 275hp and can still 2 tap Tracer (with a headshot) or 3 tap
As we see Tracer is doing very low damage and can even get outdamage by most of support (in theory). Blizzard transform a fair duel in a complete world boss mission where killing Cassidy is almost impossible.
This second take is even harder to understand because Blizzard wanted to reduce hard counter in the game few months ago…
- Conclusion (kinda)
I know some pros can make Tracer work but all people aren’t pro. She is one of the only hero who getting nerf due to a infinite skill ceilling. There is also other nerf I didn’t mention like the size of the pulse bomb (probably one of the dumbest nerf ive ever seen), the damage fall off or even the spread increased.
I really hope Blizzard gonna revert at least this damage nerf (Ive no hope ;-; )
