Bring back stuns. We need them as mobility counters

Besides Mercy and to a lesser extent Genji, mobility heroes aren’t even relevant until GM, and while strong there they still aren’t dominating (it’s a Rein/Cass meta). Maybe T500 is different, but for the playerbase at large there is no problem here to solve.

This thread is really just a personal gripe, which is fine. We all have them. But we can’t balance around them outside of extreme examples where one hero significantly ruins the gameplay experience for a large number of players, i.e. Hog (and even he’s getting a rework to not be left in a net nerfed state).

I feel the same about oneshots. I want them all removed. :laughing: But I’m fine with the applicable heroes getting compensation buffs to not be weakened.

Mobile hero players will tell you you don’t need stuns and to just shoot better, then still get angry when you are able to just shoot them. :laughing: :crazy_face:

No thank you. I like to be able to control my hero.

Some players get REALLY angry if you can drill them with a precision hero, while completely ignoring how frustrating heroes like Ball, Lucio, and Tracer can be to hit/kill and/or to deal with constant displacement CC.

There is only ONE precision hitscan hero in the entire game that can’t be dealt with by taking cover after the first shot and that’s her ENTIRE identity and is pretty much the only thing she can do but you still hear people complaining about all hitscans. Even ignoring that crit-shots are relatively rare even for amazing Widow players so more often than not you can still take cover even against Widow.

They didn’t remove counters to mobility. Some cc was just turned into slows and there’s still full stuns in the game. All they did was reduce the amount of full stuns and for good reason https://youtu.be/KxF4TuSN_A0

Going by this logic we should also get away with removing mobility and oneshots.

Slows dont affect heroes with instant disengages and fixed distance mobility compared to heroes who have to walk everywhere.

Slows are more dangerous to Symmetra than to Tracer.

Meanwhile, stuns are much easier to land on heroes who cant juke them out or choose their engagements.

Flashbang countered Symmetra way harder than it countered Tracer too.

all of the OG arena shooters that made the FPS genre what it is today, DID NOT HAVE A SNIPER RIFLE!

let’s remove everything, because those things are unfair, and when people use them it creates an advantage, which is unfair

for example, if soldier76 shoots his gun, he fires a bullet, and that bullet may harm somebody and that is just annoying, what if it harms me?

the fact alone that there is one less tank removes so many possible stuns from the game,
i dont think the removal of all of them was warranted. some of them may as well return, or at least give us more roots like junk trap.

What good is a slow if I can just press my movement ability to escape it?

I’ve said it a lot, but saying “just shoot better against the heroes made to avoid your shots” is stupid beyond belief. Its so dumb we don’t need to interact with it.

Well, you’ll probably unironically say “OMG, why does doom get to do this?! I don’t understand, what a horrible character!” while failing to realize its because you removed something that counters him greatly.

Deleting DPS control tools like stuns and 90% of Hack’s duration means in turn that heroes like Doom and Ball cant be allowed to be strong or else they dominate with their superior mobility.

Doom is super easy to deal with even without an ana hes not all that strong and even then if yiu dont all jump him at once he will just punch or slam away to get back to his team. Now if all stunns worked like that were you take damage you got un stunned but that not how they worked you sat their sucking ice or flashed unable to do anything and you would just die every time it was unfun to play against and onlt had the counter play of one shots. Plus it makes playing tank the wordt thing in the world was the reson i didnt start tank flback in 2016 i main tank in almost every game but this because its not fun you just got stunned to death and could barrly fight back
