Please bring back Shield Gen as a placeable for Symmetra, like how you could swap between it and Teleporter when it was an ultimate pre-3.0 Symmetra. It could have it’s range adjusted and it’s radius be visible to the team like how Lucio has his auras visible, providing another bit of utility to her kit. Being able to give the team (and) myself more shields to survive in fights was wonderful, especially the squishier supports on the team considering how much high damage mediums there are in the game cough storm arrow cough, it’d be interesting to see it tested in the PTR and see how the community responds to it.

Honestly, Sym needs shielding back in SOME form. Be it her old photon shield 1.0, a shield gen alternative to tp, an aura… Something.
It’s been integral to her kit since before launch. More iconic than even her barriers. She was the only hero in the game who could provide shield HP. It was her thing!
It would fit her so well as a utility dps who has synergy with bunker comps / can protect her backline from flankers.
Now that brig has been nerfed and armor packs have been removed, this wouldn’t be OP in the least. Also it’s not unusual for dps heroes to have support abilities, like biotic field or hacking health packs.
I need shielding back more than anything!

Give her an aura that buff allies 50 shielding. Best easiest way to give her 50 shield hp than regular hp. If you don’t like that then provide 75 shielding hp when her ultimate is used. I prefer the aura because it would make her of a better pick supporting a comp that benefits well off of her.

I mean…I have LOADS of ideas on how to add shields back to syms kit.
Shield aura around her turrets which encourages allies to help protect them.
50 shield for 10 seconds after the first time someone uses her Teleporter. Or TP pulses a shield aura while it’s up
If her right click passes through an ally then actually connects with enemies, and damage done is turned into temporary shielding for the last ally hit.
Her left click when focused on an enemy barrier pulses shields around her to allies.
Allies passing through her ult for the first time gain some shield. Duration refreshes when they pass back through (They don’t gain the shield back tho).
Honestly, the fun irony is that her new kit lends itself WAY more to allowing her to be a support character, if that’s the way they wanted to take her. Unfortunately they don’t care.
All of this would also be an indirect buff to Sombra, which I also like, because I like Sombra. :^)

Gimme a shield gen aura round sym, gimme a shield gen back as an alt ult hehe alt ult. gimma piercing orbs cause pbbbbbbbbbbbbt an gimme a phatter beam with a CURVE cause shes a light BENDING architect you wrote it so stick to it
Sad thing is devs wouldn’t like the idea of teams(GOATS to be specific)being more tanky, it can stack with Brigitte for example.
Giving herself temporary shields sounds better

They gave Torbjorn 250 hp knowing good and well he has an ability to buff his hp.

Yeah, it could work like Symmetra giving the shields out herself and they fizzle out when the ability ends, she dies, or they get our of her range, too. Or she herself is given a resource meter, like how Moira’s healing works.
It could also work that the shield gen will break itself as it’s resource is depleted, it’s resource being the shields that it’s giving out/restoring to people, or she has to go and pick it up when it runs out to let it recharge and replenish itself, which is a considerably healthy cooldown.
So if the team takes alot of damage and the shield gen/she can’t give out any more temporary shields, the added shield will go away when they take damage or like how Rally works now, and/or slowly degrade after the shield gen/her resource runs out.
