When Overwatch was still fairly new Genji had a bug where if he dashed into a horizontal ledge and pressed forward and jump at the right time he would get launched a massive distance. The bug became known as ledge boosting and it was semi-hard to do consistently.
If done right you would get launched in the direction you want to go but if done wrong you can get launched straight down or even backwards.
The bug eventually got patched probably because Shadowburn used it in pro games.
The reason I am making this post is because ever since DF came out DF has been able to use his rocket punch to launch himself off slanted surfaces in ways that I think were unintentional by blizzard. Since DF can basically ledge boost on a 4 second CD I was thinking could it be possible for blizzard to bring back ledge boosting?
It uses Genji’s dash which is an 8 second CD so if a Genji uses it to get into a fight he won’t have dash for a bit and will only have deflect for a defensive tool so I personally think it wouldn’t hurt to bring the bug back.
Blizzard clearly is okay with DF being able to cover massive distances with his rocket punch so why can’t Genji do the same thing with his dash?
Only real issue I see with bringing it back would be Genji being able to instantly get into and out of fights but pretty much every highly mobile hero in the game can do that.
Apologies for grammar mistakes I am half asleep writing this so it’s probably a mess.
