This game needs two large fixes and I have a request to fix them to bring the rating of the game up. Bring crates back. That was one of the best features of the game. I was excited to get OW 2 because of crates and was extremely disappointed from them being removed. You now have to buy skins with only coins. Isn’t that greedy coming from a multimillionaire company? Bring back the ability to buy skins with credits and not the coins. Bring crates back. Like how you got them from holidays and how you could get them from leveling up, or from being a certain role in unranked. Bring that back! The low rating looks terrible on your company. No one is gonna wanna continuously spend money to get skins in a game!!!

Thats stupid it isnt really gambling. So many games have it and they never target those games. Crates were one of the best features in the game.

They were only considered gambling because you could pay real money to acquire them.
There is no law saying you can’t earn loot by freely playing the game… You know like most every other game out there. Blizzard could add them that way but they won’t because they are cheap and want you to pay for skins on the store.

Lootboxes will never come back. The reason for this is relatively simple. Some governments see it as gambling and have banned it.
Nah. I prefer lootboxes to this mtx crud. But imo I’d prefer free stuff be put behind hero progression and player progression.
Give us some reason to be looking forward to seeing those bars go up at the end of each game.
Imagine every 50 or 100 hero levels for each hero you get a sweet weapon skin or hero skin locked to that accomplishment… Every 10 levels is lower level stuff like voice lines or something.
Say that again a month after the lifeguard skins came out.
You realize Overwatch is free to play? You realize Blizzard could easily go the route of shuttering the servers forever if it were no longer profitable to keep them running?
Overwatch needs to make money somehow. I’m not thrilled about the sheer price of the skins and the manipulative tactics Blizzard employs to entice you to pay for them, but at the end of the day I’d rather have to deal with that than not have the opportunity to play.
Yes they could find ways to skirt around the legal restrictions, but that would cut into their bottom line. The only reason lootboxes were profitable before was because they were legally able to sell lootboxes.

They need to bring back buying skins for creds than coins for multiple reasons and in multiple ways. Mainly they should allow you to buy bundles with credits and not restricted to coins. Secondly they should allow you to actually buy the shop exclusive skins for credits and not just coins, I’ve had two main instances where I’ve wanted to buy both Prideful for rein and street runner for genji for 1000 credits (which I would have) and it not be available. Finally, I think they should remove the RNG aspect of the shop and allow people to buy whatever they want, whenever they want. Instead of using the shop as a restriction, it should be used as a means of revealing new skins etc. it should also give discounts like a shop should in game. I think it’s so stupid and money hungry and doesn’t look good for blizzard at all.

As long as they have the shop allow you to always be able to directly purchase what you want, there is no law against putting RNG crates, so long as you can’t buy the crates with actual money.
Once again it’s only considered gambling if you pay for it. Chests containing randomized contents are common in RPGs. Lootboxes are no different if they simply make them something you earn through playing the game.
