Brigitte's Shield Size

Tbh, I think her shield should be made a little bigger and curved a bit. Not that it should cover three sides of her, but just so that it offers a bit more protection that it feels like it just doesn’t from the front. It just seems that she gets hit from the front at times where she shouldn’t. Sorta the Orisa treatment, if you will. (I’ve also heard it inconsistently blocks Earthshatter but idk for sure about that)

I’m not saying she’s weak or anything, but just that her shield doesn’t always seem to be able to do the job its meant to.

It can’t block Earthshatter or explosive projectiles that land infront of her for whatever reasons. Really awkward shield.

Same. Just a few inches bigger & curved to negate a bit of splash damage or a stray bullet.

(Or maybe they designed the shield that way on purpose to subtly encourage other members of your team to run another hero who has a shield?) :thinking:

I’ve also noticed that every since Brigitte has been live most team comps I’ve been in recently have actually chosen another supplemental healer. It’s refreshing to not have to solo support!

(And can confirm, I’ve blocked Earthshatter only a handful of times! It’s finicky. Sometimes I can nail it and other times it bombs. It’s weird.)

do it and nerf shield’s bash cooldown or hitbox. She is already very strong and people already say she is borderline op

I think the small shield is needed.
She is pretty oppressive to certain characters already like Hanzo. In long range he can’t even hurt her because her shield is always up

In shortrange he would just get bashed - hit twice and insta killed.

She’s not a tank. They made her shield the way it is on purpose.

I feel like I’m always getting hit even while it’s up. I don’t want to be invincible, but man, everything goes around it and hits me😂

Well her shield is meant to personally defend her from such attackers, but even then, I’ve seen my friends playing Brigitte with her shield up and get hit by a scatter from a Hanzo standing infront of them. With the way things like Earthshatter and Scatter interact with her shield (meaning how they sometimes just go right past it :p), I’m not even sure if her vulnerable front areas are intentional or not

Ya I found that shatter goes through her shield for some reason.

I was facing a Hanzo dead on with my shield up yesterday on Junkertown and got killed by a scatter arrow from a distance. A slight adjustment on it would be nice!

I’m not asking to be impossible to kill, I just want my shield to do it’s job … to shield me against attacks I’m facing directly.

PS - Thanks for the tip! I’ll play around with that today.

I mean, she’s a support hero – not a DPS or tank.

She’s a support/tank hybrid.

You have to be facing the shatter head on to block it. Any varying degree and it goes through the sharp curvature at the bottom of the shield.

But she’s not a tank alone. She’s only a mini version of Rein.

I’ve noticed when I jump I get Earthshattered so that might be the problem? Other than that I have no problem with her shield size, other than splash damage projectiles that hit the front of the shield still damage Bridge.

Of course. She’s a hybrid like I said. A hybrid that leans more towards Support than tanking.

I like that she isn’t blocking earthshatters or large AoE attacks. A reliable team shield is all Rein has lol, don’t give that to brigs too.

I ofcourse don’t want Brigitte to take Reinhardt’s role, I love the guy! But there are a few ways to block Earthshatter, and that was just one of a few examples that I’m sure will come up as time goes on (other things that can do it are Zarya bubbles, any shield such as Orisa’s or Winston’s, maybe Orisa’s ability where she prevents CC? But that just might be for herself). Besides, just being able to block Earthshatter won’t dethrone Reinhardt from his Honorable and Glorious role :stuck_out_tongue:

It just seems to me that if she has a shield, she should be able to block it for at least herself.

Sidenote: Can sym’s shield block it? If so, then that’s all the more reason Brig should be able to.

Brigitte shield is junk and bugged, many things can go through her shield like mccree flash bang or hanzo scatter and one shot you… like wtf. The slightest turn around with shield you make you can get headshotted by a widow
