ok, this EXC is not perfect, especially Brigitte. but he shows us (finally) for the first time how much inspiRe had been over-emphasized in the brigitte kit. look at her: her previous nerfs have focused so much on the fear of the shield bash cc that without inspire she has become particularly mediocre. this shows that without the multitasking of inspire (healing without aiming, self healing by attacking, activating the passive in all cases, all with damaging enemy heroes) all her previously nerfed kit is ridiculous. in my opinion this inspire is overly nerfed (EDIT: I mean in mechanics of activation, not in healing numbers) but here are some interesting theories on how to manage things:
- give more health to the shield?
- be able to heal herself and others while the shield is up?
- give brigitte charges more speed in healing teammates?
- attacking allows Brigitte to heal herself and the shield to heal others? or on the contrary?
Iām not sure which of these variants might work, but itās worth a try. because now we have tangible proof that the problem with inspire has always been doing too many things together with ridiculously easy activation. inspire was literally a skill never nerfed and indeed unfairly valued, for being such an intrusive passive in brigās kit. it completely took away from her the ability to pace the āshield on or shield offā gameplay.
I want to like Exp Brig but man, no regen is rough as hell. Self-Inspire, or an ability that costs a Repair on R to put a HoT on Brig, or an advance on the OW2 support passive - just something to make Exp Brig less dependent on her co-support.

Uh, Inspire was altered multiple times. There was a whole period there where she did less healing to herself than her teammates. Currently it still does less healing than Lucioās aura, un-amped, but needs to be repeatedly enabled.
The aura was never the issue, itās the damn packs. The free unaimed Mercy strength ranged heal that Violet decided to give her even MORE of, making her even MORE passive and dull and unintuitive and team dependant. They butchered Brig with this experimental.
She needs a revert to something more resembling her 1.0 playstyle. Tons of people hate hearing that, but this mess is NOT the direction to take Brig.

I wanted to love this experiment as well. As a brig player this is just aweful.
I die so easy with no Regen and throwing pack after pack so dull
I am truly surprised Violet came up with this.

First thing first, she needs a way to self heal like everyone else, otherwise sheās straight up underpowered
Zen and Mercy passively regen their healthpool outside of combat
Ana can self nade to self heal
Bap has his shift to self heal
Lucio has his crossfade to self heal forever, in and out of combat (and can amp it up)

I mean this is objectively false. Itās been nerfed 3 times in the past (or 2 if you donāt count the boop one)
Inspire self-healing reduced from 21.6hp/s to 10.8hp/s
Inspire no longer triggers after booping an enemy to their death
Inspire healing reduced from 130 to 90 (21/s to 15/s)

in the numbers of healing yes, but never nerfed in the mechanics of activation:
- bash can no longer stun through enemy barriers, does not cross them, has had a slower thrust, and in OW2 tests it translated into a āleap forward, no stunā.
- the whiplash was buffered only in the activation of inspire rather than a buff for itself;
- the shield has been significantly reduced in resistance
- Stacks no longer heal immediately and do not provide extra armor.
inspire has gradually lost numbers, but has indeed always gained in being able to be an increasingly present skill in Brigitteās gameplay rather than having real interruptions. and letās face it: difficult to define 100% āmeleeā brigitte if it has a small distance traveled with a front cone oscillation. letās compare it with reinās melee (wide action cone but very short distance) or a torbjorn hammer (normal melee range).
but my analysis is absolutely not a desire to āreturn those mechanics because inspire is the villain of all this skillā, on the contrary it is the opposite: I believe that the influence that inspire had on Brigitteās kit was too present and decisive on his nerf when it is essentially an ability that has prevented Brigitte from giving Brigitte adequate rhythms between healing and support. moira does it through a reserve of healing to manage, lucio with the need for speed or healing, mercy with the boost, ana and zen with nerfs activated on the opponent, baptiste on the coordination of the ammunition launched. Brig has always avoided this pace compared to the others, and frankly the fact that in the last tests of OW2 inspire is almost the basic skill of this hero ⦠is frankly boring both to play and to watch.
I donāt know if I mean it correctly but ⦠the point is that a brig that cannot necessarily cc could exist, but to give it to us we need at least a brig that manages a rhythm to follow rather than launching an attack because ⦠She has a melee weapon and do healing without aim.
Take her a rythm for when do something and why (especially the shield on)
exactly, itās the first thing we see perfectly in this EXC. inspire is excessively nullified but here is the exact point of this analysis:
- heal;
- self heal;
- no aim to activate globally;
we need to underpower this ability in at least one of these mechanics but in this EXC it has nerfed too many all three elements. Especially the first two.

If having two healing forms is such an issue for so many players apparently, I really wish for OW2 they would lean into one heal or the other
Like remove inspire and give her the 5 packs, then you pack open air (not aiming at anyone) (or your feet) (or use interact key) to give yourself one
Or remove all packs, and make a weak inspire activate when her shield takes damage, then a stronger one when she attacks like on live
you mean ⦠as baptiste currently does but with āchargesā?
I did not understand, a precise example?
I feel this. I stopped playing Brig after the rework, and seeing this āvisionā for what she could be by her best player makes me keenly feel the reasons why. What makes her good, and what is emphasized here I just donāt enjoy. Repair pack makes me wish Ana would hit me with sleep continually for the rest of the game.

It would be exactly like the current Brig kit in the live game
Except we remove all repair packs
Then if you are holding shield up and it takes damage, you get a weaker version of inspire activated
Exactly. I donāt get how anyone can argue that Inspire is the issue when that actually takes some amount of effort to use. Either need to get into melee and put yourself at risk or utilize her sole skillshot in Whipshot.
Packs? THOSE are zero effort. You make those her only way of healing and all that tells me is you WANT to keep her pickrate in the toilet below GM, because NO ONE is playing that for fun.

yes, because maybe now you have to stop to aim for some mate to heal but ⦠you completely lose concentration to advance adequately against the enemies (especially the flankers) and without giving even a decent result as a mercy or a zenyatta with their autolock.
the fact that inspire āquickly returnsā armor packs does not create the same resupply as Moira does. Brigitte deserves to make better use of a logic that also involves her shield, which is not the case with the inspiration currently present in comp, and especially not in this EXC.
the effort is there, but the advantage it brings is always excessive compared to many other heroes. Brigitte with her shield and armor is potentially a very solid basic hero, but the normal perks she brings inspire act as if she is an extremely fragile hero. the triad I mentioned earlier (healing, self healing, no aim in attack) brings advantages that no hero of the game has at the same time. Moira has to pause to heal others or herself, baptiste and ana have to aim, lucio and zen have to heal but to attack they have to aim, mercy has an automatic selection but personal damage completely stops support. The fact that brig has previously been nerfed on everything but not the decisive mechanics of inspire is the real joke of her balance.
Iām absolutely agree that this armor pack is a complete trash, but Inspire also has to be considered as exaggerated in its base. this EXC demonstrates how completely trashy Brigitte is in the one skill that really makes her powerful. and maybe ⦠too much to the detriment of the shield (her icon, letās remember)

Just give us Brig 1.0 just before her 2-2-2 rework back (with a few changes) - stuff it. What does it matter now anyway? Itās not like competitive matters in current OW1 anyway since OW2 is coming (at some point) and itās all going 5v5 anyway so itāll all be different.
All Iāve heard in the past is that sheād be terrible in 2-2-2. What does it matter? Sheāll be out of the high rank games if she is then. So look, theyāll finally get what they want.
Iām only joking (well, mostly) theyāll never ever do that

What if inspire was nerfed to 10hps and the aoe was reduced to 6m (the same distance as rocket flail)? The most shocking thing to me was seeing how big 20m (the current inspire aoe) is. Itās way too big for how easy it is to trigger.
To compensate (my idea): allow rocket flail to crit. A mace to the face should absolutely hurt twice as much.
Edit: and buff her shield hp
