Brigitte is in rough shape without her stun and if she doesn’t get it back, she needs another strategy for survivability. The stun served three primary purposes:
- Counter dive against Genji, Reaper, Tracer, Sombra, Wrecking Ball, Winston, Reinhardt, etc.
- Cancel ultimates: Reaper, Roadhog, Cassidy, and a few others who were dumb enough to get close to her.
- Escape when in trouble to prevent death. A 2 second stun is enough time to reposition away from a threat or buy time to cool down the rocket mace and push an enemy back.
I really don’t even understand the purpose of the shield bash right now. It says knock back, but the knockback is so minimal, I have not benefited from it.
What Brigitte needs: Ideally, her stun back, but I am open to other options. Give her mobility, even in the form of a reverse charge to jump back away from enemies (but that is a bandaid honestly). Give her a more powerful defense option like Baptiste’s immortality field in the form of a Wrecking Ball shield based on the number of enemies. All else fails, give her damage to make here capable of standing in the front lines where she belongs and be a threat. Almost every other healer outdamages her by a fair margin and they can do it from a distance.
Most other Support have mobility (Baptiste, Kiriko, Lucio, Mercy, Moira). Baptiste also gets his Immortality field. Ana is the only Character that has a stun option (Sleep technically). And Zen is zen, so we can just ignore him. Brigitte without her stun is a sub-par support, which most teams already complained about anyway. At least before the dive counter made her a strategic pick. Now, she is at the bottom of the pool.

Yeah, she does need help. She needs to be on the front line, but her health and shield don’t help and the amount you heal by attacking is a joke. Can’t even back off after you engage which is also a problem. What’s funny is they claimed to remove CC, but Junkrat got to keep their bear trap and Ana got to keep her sleep dart (which guarantee’s your death if hit by it). Blizzard makes no sense and they have no idea what balance is.

I agree, she is feeling very ineffective in OW2, she just doesn’t have a deep enough kit to compete. She also is kind of frustrating and boring to play now without the stun.

Totally agreed. I played various matches with her in comp and she feels awful. Since you have no more frontline with shields you get melted in no time. And in the backline you still have big issues without your shield stun. Triggering inspire often results in instant death as you get blasted. In addition the newer maps are the worst for her. A ton of highground and large maps that simply aren’t suited for her kit in any way.
Atm she has no strength and gets countered by various heroes unless your team is stomping anyways.
Feels like the devs didn’t think 1 bit what happens to Brigitte when most shields and the 2nd tank are gone. Now you are on the frontline alone and get blasted instantly.
Played a ton of DPS games and encountered almost no Brigitte at all. By far the least played hero, i guess for a good reason. The times I saw her she got owned hard.
Any reason her Whiplash doesn’t headshot anymore (?) as without her stun it is a difficult skillshot and should 100% have a headshot multiplier. There are so many nerf relics on her that simply don’t fit anymore in this new OW2 playstyle. Shes awful.

Yeah, I think the inconsistency of their approach on CC is what annoys me the most, especially for a character that honestly got a ton of mileage out of it. Mei is in a similar boat, but she at least still has her ult, which is also CC, so I am not sure how that is supposed to balance either.
