The moment these “people” attacked the voice actress of Brigitte with death threats and other vile things, I lost all respect for them and you should too.
If you hate a character that’s in a video game that much, to the point where you would mercilessly attack this poor girl online who was just doing her job, maybe question yourselves. Put your mental health ahead of this stupid video game, always.
They have probably kept Brigitte a problem out of spite of the community, because most of y’all don’t deserve what you’re asking for. I hope this character continues to dominate the competitive scene until y’all go numb. You asked for it.
because her healing takes no skill, i dont know why they expected a close combat fighter to have precision based healing like ana or bap, the best she can get is cooldown management. they want her to take skill but for as long as they want her to be this weird healer she will require a from the ground up rework to support mechanical input that they want from her
You do know the action of the fews doesn’t represent the whole right? If every Brig haters are hold accountable for the death threat that they didn’t make, what are we gonna make of all Mercy mains based on the “forum raids”? What are we gonna make of all Sym mains if a single Sym player made a death threat to the devs?
With that said, OG Brig warranted such hate (towards the character’s design.) Even the devs had to admit how far off the mark they were with her, even after years of nerfing.
tbh i was there when brigitte PTR and release but i didn’t know if this happen like why did they do that ? how stupid they think by attacking people that isn’t responsible for design of brig’s kit would do anything to brigitte
She is and she is the part of her PERSONALITY. Like i don’t think that anyone would have any problem with a cool swedish paladin mechanic Dominator girl with whip, especially when she has one of the most beautifull face in OW.
Yeah i can understand why someone does not like her GAMEPLAY DESIGN but that doesn’t have to do anything with her story, personality, AND ESPECIALLY WITH HER VOICE ACTOR.
Its not entirely just that, armor might need some tuning, but as people usually do, when there is a small case, if they are emotional and have a beef, they use that small case to drive a larger agenda.
Like has been said, you can’t lump all people together. I hated Brig 1.0, but I don’t have a problem with the current version. I mean, she still probably needs some tweaking (and her shield actually needs more HP, imo). But she’s not the ridiculous monster she was at release. That version of her was just completely unacceptable, I’m sorry.
However, people who are unhinged enough to actually attack the voice actress … yeah, that’s very much not the majority of people who simply dislike (or even hated) the character design.
Heck, I’m not a fan of Symmetra either, but I love her voice actress so flippin’ much. XD She’s amazing.
But yeah, those types of people you’re describing aren’t even a fraction of the majority. Actually, people like that are the exact reason the “Video Games Make People Violent!” articles exist. Just ugh.
Yeah same. I hate some characters gameplay wise with a passion.
But in no way would I ever get the idea of attacking the voice actor, or even artist for that matter, who simply gave the look/voice to the character.
Hell i wouldn’t even harass the person who came up with the gameplay.
Overwatch has so many awesome characters and the voice actors are wonderful.
Carolina Revassa (Sombra), Anjali Bhimani (Sym), Matthew Mercer (McCree) to name a few of them.
But honestly, all of them are awesome and they are active in the community as well. Love Carolinas videos with other voice actors.
Whoevers done sth like personal attack to voice actor are idiots. They should not be tolerated either. But you cannot justify brig as an underdog character in ow just because this happened Brig is a no brainer hero requires close to zero talent to play and its getting rewarded just existing in the game. People can go to GM with one tricking brig and dominating there too while stuck in plat DPS. You are no different than those people to say such thing like just because that happened brig should revange her in game by ruining everybodies gameplay experience. Brig single handedly ruined this game since her release and made some many players quit the game, only reason braindead hero mains lurking in forums with ease bc there are not much people to care about this games competitive integrity. You cant right sth by doing more wrong.

Also, I wouldn’t associate those who abused the VA with people who want her changed now, that’s way too big of a leap in logic.
If you were solely referring to the group of guys attacking her sure go at it, but your post is giving vibes that you automatically associated a larger group of people with something most of them did not do, and that doesn’t make you look good either.
I wouldn’t change her right now tbh, most people who cry about her are not even in ranks where she is that effective.
A new uproar of these complaints arose when popular GM streamers mentioned how she is strong in that rank, and that somehow planted a bug in everyone’s ears. Weird how these trends go.
