How about instead of adding the additional armor on top of the base health of a hero, the armor pack instead changes 50hp to 50 armor points when the pack heals the target to full health.
For example, Brigitte throws a repair pack onto a Tracer:
Current mechanic: Tracer gets 150hp and 50 temporary armor (200 points total)
Proposed mechanic: Tracer gets 100hp and 50 temporary armor. (150 points total)
Another example, Brigitte throws a repair pack onto an Orisa:
Current mechanic: Orisa has 200hp, 250 armor, and 50 temporary armor.
Proposed mechanic: Orisa has 150hp, 250 armor, and 50 temporary armor.
The temporary armor turns back into normal health after 5 seconds (or it slowly degrades into normal hp at a rate of 10points/sec?)
IMO this is a better alternative than the complete removal of armor, as seen in Experimental, and still keeps her niche of providing armor. It just no longer overheals. Because, like in the Tracer example⦠Tracer was balanced around having 150hp. Giving her 200 hp is too much.
In the same change, you can revert the fact that temporary armor is put on top of original armor and shields. Just drop it directly between original health and armor.
The problem is that Brig is enabling dive even tho the only reason shes in this game is to counter dive. Being able to feely give armor to allies needs to go, her ult can stay since itās her ult.
Its cow-towing to the vaping man-child cult that worships Samito quite frankly. I expected far better from the Devs, far better. They are desperate to jump start that bloated gas-filled corpse of OWL which as much as I would like it to succeed, just isnāt going to. Screwing around with moves to re-enable Dive is the sign they are desperate.
They couldāve made it so armor only stacks if the hero you heal with armor pack was below 75% health or even 50% health.
They just took the most uncreative, lazy and unoriginal route and completely deleted her armor packs, now she only gives packs. Also her identity is completely lost. Whatās the point of healing somebody with her packs when I can play ana and burst heal people.
I have zero problem with a support enabling a comp that struggled for years, particularly now that double shield comps dominate for so long.
I have problems with over-powered things but I reckon those two arenāt mutually exclusive. Letās us keep Brig enabling dive and nerf her, seems easy enough.
How about we revert the last buffs ya boi Lucio got. They kind of help dive donāt they? Speed on an entire team is far more impactful than a few seconds of pre-armor⦠oh silly me, I forgot, Ana and Lucio are the only supports the GM crew likesā¦
Sheās meant to do whatever the heck the devs decide sheās meant to do. Keep her dive enabling where she makes the meta more varied and her own kit more interesting.

This is not about dive meta.
Providing armor works just as well to enable dive as to counter dive, depends on how itās used.
IMO itās overrated because back in actual dive meta we also had old Torbās armor packs and he wasnāt played in dive for his armor, in fact he wasnāt played at all back then.
This is just about her mechanic that is her whole identity.
HIstorically, they love Lucio and Ana for their āutilityā. Brig is in, and its ticking off some other Support players, and the Masters+ crew that despises and always will despise Brig. This is not hard to see if you try.
My point is donāt whine about armor enabling dive when a much stronger and more consistent mechanic already exists for it. it shows bias.
On this āmeant to beā its being posed one-sided- Brig is not one facet, she has several. Sheās anti-dive and and an enabler. This attitude of being purely anti-dive is about as near sighted as saying Ana reserves sleep for defense

Iāve always thought armor should be helpful for spam so it should focus more on resistance, less extra.
and shields are the one ability that should be added on top of hp.
because itās instead of normal hp you can also buff it from 50 armor to 75armor.
it will also makes more sense lore wise that brig will heal with armor and not normal hp.
Personally I never liked abilities that do different things in different senarios⦠feel like different results, so this change will make her more consistent.

I expect nothing less for smart devs as well. If they went out on a whim for every big forum post that canāt hold a decent conversation for 3 paragraphs I wouldnāt respect them in the first place.
