Recently I’ve been looking at picking up Brigitte and I’m just awful at her.
I tend to stick to hitscan dps or tanks like Zarya and Sigma so its not an easy transfer.
If anyone has good advice on a good playstyle for her I’d love to hear it!

Number 1:
Brig is not a DPS character anymore.
Number 2: Play ana
Number 3: Brig is a close and personal character, she needs to stick with her tanks to heal.
Her barrier is squishy, it’s better to flash it and catch big abilities and occasional damage than it is to keep it out all the time. Her main healing is inspire, so always be on the lookout for anyone out of position and whipshot them. Stick close to your tanks. Your ult is not gonna be a good counter to almost any ult, so it’s best to use it in the lead up to or during a team fight to keep people up longer than usual. Stun people using their ults, she’s good at shutting those and other abilities down. You can also use it as a small mobility boost to get yourself out of the range of sticky situations.
Yes I know this.
I already know how to play Ana. Please keep irrelevant smart remarks out of topics asking for actual help.
Be your tanks’ backpack, like never leave within a few feet of them, except for 2 reasons:
Thats the biggest one. Oh and abuse whip’s 4 sec cooldown. Use as much as humanly possible
That’s really helpful. I’ve been using it too much and it gets shredded.
Dont pop it to counter ults, got it.
So I should be using it like I would Valkyrie?
Right before a team fight/ during teamfight, but don’t pop it specifically because an ult was used.
Makes sense. Just dont pop a stun for no reason.
Thanks a lot, this was rather helpful.
Makes sense.
Speaking of Repair pack, whats the best way to use them? I know they give over time. Is it best to use one repair pack per person? I don’t have much experience on her after they reworked her.
Yup. Always Be Whipshotting.
Ive found that overhealing people to give them armor should only be done on someone in a sniper duel, or anyone diving like a winston/tracer/genji/hammond, and you give it to them right at the max distance from you so it lasts as long as possible
you only get 3 per 18 seconds and they’re your big healers so can’t spam them out.
And yes, never use multiple per person unless that person’s gonna be focused by whole enemy team like a blading genji, but even then, all youre doing is extending the time; multiple doesn’t increase healing or armor values
I usually just sit behind/stick to the tanks and if they have flankers I hand out with the other support or vulnerable dps if we have them. Since her barrier is so weak I hang around natural cover all the time so I always have a way to avoid enemies from the front.
For repair packs, I like to use them on non tank heroes the most if your second support is anyone other than Lucio or Zen. If we’ve got a good 2nd healer I normally let them heal up the tanks since they eat up your repair packs and teammates will die if you always have none left.
Shield bash is great for cancelling abilities and confirming kills, I wouldn’t be bashing full hp tanks most of the time.
A use of shield bash which is often overlooked is using it as mobility. It only pushes you 7 metres but it can be used to clear some gaps, (I believe you can cross highgrounds on Numbani first point) chase down targets or escape back to your team.
I’m not very good at aiming Whipshot but it has a super shot cooldown and in general it’s just super annoying on top of triggering inspire of course. My favourite use of it is slapping mid air Winstons.
Rally is pretty underwhelming and in most situations it’s pretty bad to use as a reaction to most ults, since it takes a while to give full armour. I normally use it when my team is going full aggro mode.
thread a bit long but 14 days old and full of answers
I gave some advice to another player on a different thread and instead of just copy pasting or typing it all out I’ll just link it
also if you continue down the thread I talk about whip shot

Play the corners.
Pop out to get a few swings in and whip shot then pop back round the corner again.
She’s a hero that plays like a task manager. You will be multitasking and queuing up your actions like “throw a pack here, whip shot here, throw another pack, shield bash here, whip shot again, engage this one, throw a pack again” and it goes on…
Like Rein, learning to Shield Hop is a good start. Backing off and reducing your movement penalty is always worth it especially in defense
Dont be afraid to use Shield Bash to regroup with your team if you were caught too away.
Always try to stay alive, learn to back off as Brig is a Melee hero, and is harder to back away as shes squishy for the front lines.
Always ALWAYS Whip Shot.
Keep inspire up as long as you can, and push up with your Reinhardt if you missed and need to Proc it again. Most likely he will support you.
Save one repair for emergencies, dont blow all three on Zarya when your Reaper could use Armor for flanking.
While you are mid-front with the Team, keep check of your second support and always peel for them, thats where that 1 repair can be handy and a make or brake moment
Rally before pushing in, be the one to initiate the fight like Mercy
