A shield bash stun or disrupt is as iconic as shields are themselves.
It sucks seeing a channeling ult in front of you and you have no choice but to just watch you team die as you shield bash away with tears in your eyes.
Or that genji that’s hopped up on Red Bull continues to flank you Ana over and over and a disrupt would stop it
Hack is only for somra, As a support it would be for everyone. So she bashes someone that tries to attack her or a team mate, calls out. I bashed x. Kill quickly. Could be like 3 seconds of a 20% debuff. Enough for even her to get a bit of damage and kill a flanking target or help push a frontline with a tank.
You ever play any looter shooters, like Borderlands? Imagine you’re shooting at something, you’re very clearly hitting it, but it’s registering as a MISS. It’s the most frustrating thing in the world.
I’d still be super careful. The devs said awhile ago that “Directly affecting someone’s damage with a debuff” felt horrible. Now imagine that your actual skill is being nerfed, because that’s what it ultimately amounts to.
Since they have Role-Specific Effects for abilities, they should allow her to CC DPS and Supports. The CC would only last 0.2 sec, just enough to totally stop movement momentum and end cast times/channeling. However, they can quickly recover to speed away OR still use their guns after that short time is up.
Against Tanks she only deals damage. She still has the knock-down interaction vs Charges/Punches.
Lastly, the Shield Bash->Whip Shot combo would cut off ANY end lag of the Shield Bash the moment it hits something it can stun so they can’t Ability their way out of the combo. But Shield Bash->Anything Else would still have end lag for Shield Bash. This is for peeling reasons. AKA: 33% of Brigette’s expected job.
I think this would make brig very oppressive against tanks, there are already a lot of dmg boost in the game, mercy zen and now Sombra (which is very strong by the way)
I prefer it to reduce target damage, or just silence targets
