This change for brigitte should not make it to live. Overall, it is not the right thing to change about the hero, not to mention how inconsistent and buggy it is…
And then it brings us into the other problem of: What else shouldn’t go through shields that happens to be melee? Should rein not be able to hit through shields? Genji blade? No. So why brig’s bash? (Rhetorical, I know why, but this change doesn’t solve it in a productive way. It’s a bandaid fix. We don’t need any more bloody bandaid fixes for this game. It has enough of them as is.)
What should be changed in place of this, is simply this:

Shield Bash
- Stun replaced with a decaying 1 second 100% movement speed slow, and a 1 second mobility ability disable.
Now brig can’t bash rein’s shield down, but still does her job against dive, and prevents the inconsistency presented by the idea of her being unable to bash through barriers, while other melee heroes get to continue as they were.
Objectively, this is not a good design choice. It shows just how broken the interaction is by her being given an exclusion from the norm. Fix the interaction to make it fair instead of this. Same for doom actually, get rid of the stun on his punch and replace it with a decaying 1 second 100% movement speed slow for when his targets hit a wall, and disable mobility abilities while influenced by rocket punch.
