I play Brig the most, but I still don’t fully understand inspire. I just constantly beat people with a mace and listen for the sound, but sometimes I NEED that inspire up and I have technical questions. There isn’t a great indicator that it is working and who is receiving it. When I first started playing Brig, I didn’t understand that hitting a shield does not proc inspire. I now understand you have to hit the people, but I have other questions.
Does hitting Bob proc inspire?
I know mace or whipshot certainly causes inspire, but silly question…does shield bashing?
If I am in the room above my teammates, do they get inspired? If they not in line of sight, but a pole or something is blocking them, just like a Diva bomb, will they not get it?
I also doubt that hitting sentries, the teleporter, a turret, lamp, petal platform, healing pylon, concussion mine, steel trap, & rip tire would proc it, or am I mistaken?
I currently have a 32% inspire uptime percentage and 49% whipshot accuracy for the current season with a 64% win rate. Often inspire is above 40%. Things like riding the cart or the occasional unfavorable team drags it down, but I’d like to see if I can increase it.
Bob is regarded as a “player” or more as a “NPC” and is affected by most things. So yes, hitting him with the flail or with the bash should trigger inspire.
Every form of damage she can deal - whipshot, flail, shield bash - procs inspire.
This applies to enemy players, but does not apply to deployables with two exceptions - Bob, and Wrecking Balls mines, which will both proc inspire.
As for an indicator, you just have to look out for hit markers and trust. There is a gold ring that shoots out around Brig to indicate Inspire, but personally I never see that in game. I literally didn’t even know about it until a couple months ago and I’ve been maining Brig since launch.
That said, for as important as Inspire is to her kit, it’s generally not something I have at the top of my priority list unless I need it for a specific reason like my dps need to peak a corner, or specific comp match ups for example.
Otherwise it’s really just something that, if I’m playing well in general I will have good Inspire usage in general.
As for her Inspire mechanics itself, while the effects have a massive radius, you must be in LoS of Brig when she procs it. After a hero has gained inspire, it will continue its full effect even if they leave LoS.
If you proc Inspire multiple times within it’s 5 second duration, it will simply reset the 5 second timer with each individual hit, rather than stack healing. (This concept applies to her heal packs as well.)
I can’t speak to specific cases like telephone polls but that’s generally not a concern haha.
yup! it was included in her balance change going into ow2
yup, the line of sight is like that. though i do believe that if you proc inspire, if an ally isn’t in ur LoS when activated, but they enter your radius while it’s still active, they will still be healed from it
uhhh that i don’t know. i feel like it should, but my memory isn’t the best
Nope! Brig’s Inspire is kinda stupid. If they’re not in LOS when it procs, they won’t get healed until you proc it again. I’m not sure how it works with the timer though
