Yes you read it right. Since you ruined his projectile sniper identity and made him borderline garbage without giving anything in return, then make a compensation rework and give him a new ability that allows him to be a menace up close.

Since in modern gameplay design everyone have endless sustain and hp, his kit have to be reworked in defensive way, giving an opportunity to not be a victim for a dive for free. Maybe it has to be some defensive stance that blocks damage, a charging melee attack of some sort or whatever else that you can imagine.

I know, many gonna come up with argument that it is against the lore, but I really don’t believe that anybody, especially in dev team, cares about the lore anymore. Neither do I. And also, lore has to develop and evolve, anyway. Characters change over time, and this must be a positive change that anyone would appreciate.

ps don’t take this too serious, i deinstalled long ago and just troll here at this point

Unironically, about 15 years ago in another game that I played there was an ability for melee archer to do melee arrow attack, wasn’t all that bad back then.

Yes, why not. The game has dropped into a state of “A feast in time of plague” long ago and all that devs do is just sell skins while everything around is falling apart. Why not give a katana to old drunk for keks. Lol.

Originally, Hanzo and Genji were a one character. They wanted a hero that both had a sword and a bow.

Indeed anybody who cared enough about this game knows this. But while Genji got entire 3 kinds of weapons at his disposal(katana, shurikens, wakizashi), Hamzo been left with only a bow. And a bottle of sake.

He is a beast with a sword, if you trust his words. It’s just he is upset that he killed his brother, so he doesn’t want to hold a sword again. Then he discovered that he didn’t kill his brother, but we also discovered that this is blizzard’s writing, so we need to expect nothing less.

Perhaps now lore wise he can realise that blizzard killed the PvE and make an another vow to find and destroy everyone is responsible for it, primarily by using a blade again.
