I remember when this was #BoycottMercy, it got a ton of backlash and the thread was 404d. Funny how when the boycott is something that you care about, your opinion on boycotts change. This forum is a joke.
Rein? The hero who matched Orisa’s usage in GM before her nerfs and was, by far, the most dominant tank at every single rank below GM? The same Rein who, in spite of this, saw absolutely no adjustments in the most recent patch?
Incredibly balanced?
Rein truly has more fan armor than any hero.

If you used 10% of this passion on actually important issues we’d have an actually decent society.
All tanks are viable; two of them are no longer strictly superior. Get over it.

Zarya is still fun for me and she can be quite the juggernaut if played correctly, melt faces so fast once you got a good charge.

I never thought I’d meet someone here just as keen on employing subtle polite middle class passive agression as I but this is truly next level, hats off.

The point is the fire is big, and the level of gas is very small. It isn’t going to make a difference.

When i first started playing OW two years back and coming from a cRPG and MMORPG background predominantly, Reinhardt was my “go-to” as he fit into the sword-n-board stereotype of a “tank”.
Also, i was under the impression that “tanking” in OW = being a damage sponge with the healer constantly feeding heals and protection spells a la MMO style (particularly in FFXI and FFXIV).
As time went by i realised that the MMO mechanics definitely do not fit into this game especially when i saw that no one used my Shield, nor followed me nor healed me.
So after observing how Red Teams play in Wins against me in-game (the game review function was not available yet) particularly the behaviour of the DDs and Tanks, i realised that Tanking in OW is like war battles in real life (i was in the army for over ten years as part of my country’s mandatory national service)
Tanks function like how real tanks do in a real life battle. They push forward creating some cover, some threat i.e. “create / take space” so that the infantry can inch forward.
Road Hog is the kind of brute force tank which causes enemies to retreat by the sheer physical threat he poses i.e. 1 shot via hook combo whilst Hammond literally pushes enemies away and is so mobile that he forces aggro on himself or the Red Team suffers either by elimins or having their map point taken away from them.
Both fit into the blitzkrieg strategy of war which is not typical.
The issue currently is that players are just not playing Hog and Hammond like they are supposed to be played as tanks whilst playing them as DDs. Also, the other issue lies with players not understanding how to work with the space which these tanks create.
To GaiaFirebird, I would say that a well played D.Va is a monster still.
While grinding for the Bastion Summer Event Skin yesterday, i played QPC Arcade and in one of my games, i was faced against a Diamond ranked Tanker (check his/her profile after the game) who was using D.Va and s/he played D.Va in a very blitzkrieg manner who single-handedly managed to stall my team at Junker Town first point to nearly the time limit.
Ultimately we won that game but it was primarily due to the fact that i switched off Bastion to Ball and i had a co-Tank who switched between Siggy and Winston.
It was a nail biter of a game and i saved my highlight because it was a great game.
The morale of the story is that D.Va is not the easiest character to be bullied.
Amongst tanks, i would say that Orisa is, at the moment. =(

As much as it may be attractive to be petulant over the numerous nerfs which came our way, Nah, i would always be a Tanker and will play as one in RQ and competitive mode (when i have the time and energy).

Well at the very least, you avoid playing a role that isn’t enjoyable to play. If the action doesn’t affect the general outlook of the game while it improves your own personal enjoyment by switching entertainment then that is still something worth doing.

Brainhardt is boring as hell to play, and to play against, sigma’s dead, orisas dead, both everywhere besides GM, Roadhog is busted, thing which hurts sigma even more, ball is one of the most annoying heroes to play against, zarya is boring, and Winston is just a hit and run character, a get bullied card, specially being all dps and hog so strong
I’ll admit he’s pretty balance but IMO, he’s the most boring tank to play.
It’s a Shame that tank mains have to go through this. My condolences to you all.

But lets be real playing Reinhardt does not feel rewarding most of the times…if you play him you start feeling like the bullied kid out of the highschool movies. He only works if the team plays around him and lets be real…this is comp and most of us arent above diamond.
Zarya feels more sort of rewarding because of how indepedent she is to play to some degree but the king of “rewarded feeling” is the pig hero. Hog is completely independent and has no value to offer for his teammates except killing people thats probably why the buffed him. LeTS mAKe FPS GReat AGaAin
Not really sure why but tank queue times have actually gone up, meaning you don’t have to wait as long for a dps game. Not sure why, but I’ve been taking advantage. I’m kinda done playing tank, where your job is to make the game fun for two players on your team at the expense of 4.

I do not get flamed for picking an offtank wich is not sigma now.
Im playing tank more than ever.
Dont need to let them know that since they dont even get paid regular wages by their employers lul.
