Boycott 1/3/2 - solo tanking #neverAgain

WoW disagrees been 1 tank, 1 support, 3 dps since launch and is one of the longest running most successful games to date.

That’s just not true. 3-2-1 worked so long as the 2 are support and the 1 tank is a burst dps or a main tank. If all tanks become main tanks than 3-2-1 very much can work out. Role queue fixed 4dps and up. I was happy to be a rein so long as I knew I wouldn’t die due to heavy focus.

This game isn’t wow. Wow isn’t a shooter. Wow isn’t a game that has anywhere close to a comparable design to OW. Even games within the same genres have ideas that don’t work for each other. Like Paladins for an exmpale has several ideas that don’t work with ow and the same is true for ow. Also the addition of a single player changes things alot.

The game has always been in 2/2/2 not 1/3/2 when some synergy hasn’t taken over (pretty much from nano reaper with speed boost meta forward)

Triple tank meta? Triple dps meta, and goats will have a talk with you.

Dive, double sniper and the secondary metas to litterally all of these would like to have words with you. And those like the ones I listed are the synergy based comps. 2/2/2 has been the standard for off meta when people don’t want to play Dive, Double sniper, goats, Triple tank or what ever is meta at the moment. There a plenty of very good reasons that they went for 2/2/2 and not 1/3/2

Oh I agree - I just think for one fundimental reason the experiment will show a negative result. (the tank responsibility part)

And I know they’re gunna halfass it most likely, the experimental card probably won’t come with balancing for the mode and we are going to be testing it in an environment it doesn’t belong in, so the test is going to show off color results - they do probably need the data for balancing PROPERLY but I just think it needs to come in a form that resembles the expected balance for that mode, even if it’s unfinished.

in my opinion the most probable scenario is to tune up all the tanks to be OP and then slowly tune them down. Otherwise, both all roles will get frustrated:

  • Tanks for dying all the time
  • Supports for taking the blame because they will have to pocket the tank
  • DPS who will die all the time without sufficient healing

Dude that would be one of the worse things they can do, make their resource matter EVEN MORE. That right there is the reason no one plays tank, they are too central to winning through doing the JOB of the role. Increasing our resources makes sure our role is 100% job based 100% of the time because there will be 5 squishies >.<

I just hope they make our resource less important than the rest of the kits, not even just for the mode, but in general >.>

You mean like now??? When you’re only running two and if one of those two goes down before the enemies the fight is over? Especially if it’s your barrier.

Seems wise. Only give devs the feedback from other roles, meaning if tanks truly do hate it, but people who play it like it and give positive feedback, then there’s a chance it could become the norm rather than just an experiment. Smart idea.

That’s fair. But again. Don’t hate something until you try it. It’s ignorant and close minded.

But it’s OK. There are plenty of other more fun, less toxic games out there. :slight_smile:

What I am arguing is that you calling my opinion ignorant and close minded is ignorant and close minded in of itself. The issues are there to see before and amount of playtime happens it silly to think that those issues go away from any amount of play. Me thinking these are a big deal is not ignorant or close minded.

No because I’m keeping an open mind and am willing to try it out before i crucify it. I’m giving it a fair trial. You condemned it based on assumptions.

Wasn’t that a very short meta because it got eaten by goats? It was a counter meta that pros pulled off once, talked about by your overwatch, and then died as quickly as it came because it was inaccessible to 99.999% of the games players.

No it was really back when Ana was released and Dva had 400 armor. She just pumped out so much healing and having easier targets made Ana easier and very broke.

The fact you are calling my arguments assumptions is dishonest. They are not assumptions. Just because you like this mode doesn’t mean that there aren’t flaws with its very existence. Feel free to disagree with how much they matter but please don’t act like they aren’t flaws with this.
