Its garbage. Yesterday I got a 3 win streak and decided to call it a night. Today I play and I get 2 losses 0 wins, and both games had 2+ throwers. The second game had 5dps and I was playing Mercy.
This game makes it impossible to get out of your rank. It gives you bad team mates on purpose because you get a win streak. So why play it? Want to know why? It hooks you into playing it. You think you will earn your SR back? NOPE. Your never going to escape your rank unless your so good you play almost 500+SR above your rank. That’s it.
So why support a game that punishes skill, makes you pay $40 just to play, and secretly traps you in your rank?
If you trying to climb only play dps type supports or just go full dps. Supports in low ranks is frustrating lol and this is coming from a dps-support main in gold.
What if I told you that rank is completely meaningless except for gold guns and apparently your sense of self-worth?
If it’s causing you genuine anger, do what most of the playerbase does and don’t play comp.
Otherwise, just focus on staying positive overall. 3 wins and 2 losses will still cause you to have a net increase. As someone who has climbed from silver to diamond, I can tell you personally that this process does not happen overnight. Focus on playing well, and things will improve.
Well I climbed from gold to diamond, so I don’t think it’s as impossible as some people like to make out. Just pick impactful heroes, and work on your own gamesense. It might take a while but you can climb. Besides, rank isn’t everything, what’s important is having fun. I play quickplay with my friends a lot, or the arcade modes, and I get more enjoyment out of that than comp. Comp is just really when I want to put my skills to the test.
You have all dps, because of the mentality the first reply just stated. “Just play DPS if you want to climb”. You had 5 people that wanted to climb, I suppose.
I’m unsure how the game hooks you into playing it. I play it for fun and when I’m done, I’m done. The ranks are always meaningless. I see competitive as something that at least tracks your W/L along with placing you among people of similar skill. Is your life going to be that much different if you’re in Diamond or Gold? I doubt it.
I climbed from 2700 and peaked at 3660 and remained close to that seasons following. It’s definitely possible.
Also, your final point is ridiculous. The game doesn’t secretly trap you. Furthermore, it’s self-evident that you must play better than your current rank in order to escape it. If you play like a Silver, you’re a Silver. Trust me, people in Silver do things that explain why they are Silver. There aren’t enough throwers/leavers in the game to prevent a Master player from becoming it. Why anyone would think that even though you play best in Gold, you should still reach Master’s is unfathomable. There is no end goal. You seek to improve and enjoy matches that are tailored to you for the best experience. If you play optimally in Gold, you DON’T want to play in a Master’s lobby. You will hate it because everyone will be better than you, by default.
I reached Master’s in Season 3 and many Seasons succeeding that. That’s where I typically belong. I’ve never cared to progress further and honestly I don’t really care if I’m Diamond either. It really changes nothing. I play competitive merely because it actually counts over random Quickplay sessions.
Attack Widow is very viable and arguably more advantageous than Defense. The “category” the Hero is in doesn’t define when they can be used. However, if you have hostility and resentment toward the attack Widow, I could see how that would create a loss. Also, did you ever guess that the person wants to play Widow for the very reason you are playing…(having fun)?? Widow players shouldn’t play their Hero and have fun though right?
Bro just stop playing competitive. Go play quickplay and arcade modes with your favorite heroes and develop those heroes with a sense of pride and self accomplishment. collect skins for them and so forth. I play QP and deathmatch with them only.
Stop thinking about you rank. Getting new rank not magically improve you game play or give you ideal teammates. Throwers, leavers and trolls exists on all ranks. Just take a break of competitive games for awhile.
I started in plat season 1, and have since reached a new career high almost every season. Two seasons ago I reached masters for the first time.
Did I play as a masters/high diamond player in season 1? No. I played as a plat back then, and for each season I have gained more game knowledge and skill.
It’s not the game that prevents you from climbing, it’s your mentality.
I’m “boycotting” the game, and have been for a while. I just do my placements, do a few more matches to get to diamond, then just play Fortnite: Battle Royale because the devs there listen to the community and admit when they’re wrong (in the Battle Royale version, idk about PvE) within weeks, not several months (Geoff)
