the borders are currently really boring & you never see someone’s rank when playing ranked which is not so nice. add some customizable flavor to them, everything looks the same.
Also what’s the incentive for playing ranked? it feels like there are no special rewards for reaching a certain rank. all you get is a tiny bland looking icon on your profile that most people have on private anyway.
I remember when people played games just because they were fun. Fun was the only incentive. Maybe I am old.
I played comp only for points for golden guns. I’m not a fan of the jade guns now, so I’ve completely given up on comp–also, it’s super toxic and kind of stressful, even though I’m low ranked 
QP is so much better overall imo

But also, I’m kind of glad comp gives you nothing, I felt pressure to play it in OW1 every single season for the sprays, of all things (I did placements every season except the final). Kind of glad I’m free/you should want to play it in order to play it, not feel obliged.
There isn’t. That’s why this game’s competitive scene is dying. Even after a revamp, they introduced gawdy, “who cares” green recolors as your reward for attempting competitive.
Other games: seasonal participation rewards, currency, name cards, unique skins, emotes, weapon inspects, back addons, weapon skins, weapon addons, a commemorative title, cosmetics, etc.
OW: you get to appear on an ever-evolving ladder of player names and if you grind ~250 games you get a green weapon. Also a temporary title that you won’t want to equip anyways cuz its disgracefully boring and anything aside Champion/Top 500 will net you lol’ed at.

I literally have no initiative to play considering everything is bound to the boring BP. In any normal live service game you always have something to work towards but not here.
Remember when games were actually fun? Maybe I am getting old.
