Earning the next level after 5 stars and 100 level, it said I was promoted, but in the following match it showed me with 5 stars and 1 level. I took a screenshot of one of my highlights showing 5 stars and level 99 so I know it’s a Blizzard/Overwatch issue.

Looks like you have capped. There’s no new border after that level.

Im at Gold right now. And I kinda am not climbing very fast any more. The matches are full of so many rude players anymore. That I rack up leaver -xp 
Maybe someday I will make it to your experience level.
If you are lvl 3000ish then you are at the current max. And you basically skip the next one if blizzard ever makes more. 
The diamond border is the highest it gets at the moment.
We have
Bronze 1-600
Silver 601 - 1200
Gold 1201 - 1800
Platin 1801 - 2400
Diamond 2401 - 3000+
Each filling 600lvls
Yeah, that has happened to me with my diamond border, too. I got to five stars, then the number underneath rolled over back to 1 after 100, with no other changes whatsoever to the border. This has happened eight times in a row now, for approximately the last nine months. One of my friends also had it happen to him at least 13 times. We expect it will happen to the other people we know with their diamond borders, once they advance from level 3000 to 3001, too.
Simply put: Blizzard just needs to make more portrait borders!
Technically, where I’m at being level 3800, I’m on my “GM” border, if it were to exist. To look at it another way, if I had stopped playing this account once I had hit 3000 and started fresh with a new one, I would have a silver portrait border with two stars.
Well darn. I also have over 140,000 credits to do nothing with. I wish I could give some of those away in game.

Blizzard has not yet created prestige border icons for players of your level.
Please make a thread and recruit all the other “diamond” borders to get the attention of the art team!
I know of at least 3 “diamond borders” on XBL who have reached level cap (sexymissmercy being among my favorites). I want to see the next pretty border!

Some day, I will get one million credits. 
And I will probably cry, too- for what will I spend it on? We just don’t have enough cosmetics that release quickly enough anymore.
Also, my little goal for the last six months has been to find someone—anyone—who has more credits than me on a single account, which is why I keep posting updates to the amount of credits I have. So far, it looks like I’m the richest player here. Even my level 4300 friend doesn’t have that much because he’s impatient during events and tends to buy most, if not everything, upfront in the first hour it is introduced.
Diamond border is 2400-3000, but there is nothing after that. I am currently 3002.

Dude you are max level now if they do release a new level border you will be up by one star. so they idk released a masters border you wont start from master 1 you will start from masters 101 (i think)
You missed gold border which is 1201 to 1800 and plat is 1801 to 2400 and diamond is 2401+

As he has reached 10k levels. Or even more not sure anymore.
